k so, back when I used to do content, I would get listed for my keywords after being indexed and thats that, i never heard of this "google dance" (To my understanding, google will recognize your site, then sometimes put you in "google dance", a holding time per say while big G decides where to place you in results for keywords) but it appears things have changed since then...

Anyways, lets say I target the superbowl as a keyword, i decide to purchase www.superbowlX.com, but within the content, the keyword "superbowl" is my primary choice (lets pretend it has low competition)

So all of my content users the word superbowl, eventually google recognizes me (typing the URL into google brings back 1 result, to my page) but when i type in "superbowl" i don't show up in the results AT ALL

HOWEVER, if i type superbowlX, I show up on page 1.

is this me in google dance? or is this google not thinking i deserve to rank for "superbowl"?

    Hard to say...

Google dance happens when a lot of links are created in a short amount of time to your site. Google might temporarily drop you out of the SERPS for a short time while your new SERP is calculated.

Did you recently blast a lot of links to your site for that term?

not at all, the most I did was create about 20 forum profiles linking to it manually the day i uploaded the article
