Hi there people, I am totally new to the world of SEO. I started my own website last month using one of the instant build-your-own packages from a major web building website. I'm having trouble with getting Google to correctly display my site name, Instead it seems to be displaying a choice of random key words that I entered to display the sites content. On top of that, instead of displaying the site's web domain address, it's now displaying the web address of the host's domain. I am a complete newbie, and have no idea where to begin. I am willing to pay for some help, as well as hopefully learn some basics as I go along.

    Thanks,
    Tony

Since you are ready to shed out some funds i suggest you buy a good wordpress theme.

Without taking a look at your site, no one can really say what the problem is let alone proffer solution.

Have you tried contacting the providers?

Thanks guys, I have contacted my provider several times but was told it's the SEO and Google's problem, not theirs etc. Bilbo, I can't PM yet as I'm a new member, I need 15 or more posts

    Cheers

I think you get wordpress with a good theme. The "Build your Own"packages suck and they are messy and buggy!

Hi, the problem is, when I search my website in Google, instead of it bringing up my company name, it instead says a keyword 'Dope' instead of the actual website name, and instead of it being my domain it says the providers web page domain
instead of my website domain. Is this actually Google's fault as suggested by my provider, or is it my provider?

Don't waste your time with this, go and find some decent hosting and install wordpress and start from there.

Sounds like your current provider is very limiting and restricting in what you can do and there's no point wasting time on a platform your going to grow out of in the very near future.

Take a look in your browser at your page titles and see if they are ok. If they are ok and on google shows you something different, don't worry, it will take some time until google will see you in the right way, but if your titles are not how you wanted to be, use meta tags to change titles, descriptions, etc.

But this has only recently happened, prior to this, my website domain at least showed correctly, and as for my website title, it's always been wrong from the first day of publishing
