First thread here guys, just wanted to see if I could get some friendly advice. This forum is amazing and has a wealth of information. I'm sure the questions I'm about to ask have already been answered so I apologize .. I tried to do as much reading as possible before posting. So, I've found a niche and created a list of 15-25 high traffic, low competition keywords using Micro Niche Finder. This is also a niche I know a great deal about so I want to milk it for all it's worth. I've written an Ezine article and created a Squidoo lens as a landing page. As of now, I don't have a sale but it's only been a couple of days. I'm going to continue to change and ping the lens, write more articles, bookmark, get backlinks, etc. My next step is going to be to purchase a domain name with a keyword phrase in it and promote it via PPC. I'd like to do this as soon as possible to see if this niche/product is worth my time. I've read that I need to send an 100 hops/per day so I don't mind doing that for 4-5 days to accurately gauge traffic and conversion rates. I've been analyzing the few competitor's ads and landing pages. For example, one of my competitor's uses a video squeeze page with a very brief video, minimal copy, opt-in form and after completing the optin, you are directed to the merchant page. My questions: I would like to do something similar for my landing page. I figure this way I can market to them later if they don't initially buy the product. How do I go about redirecting them right after they complete the opt-in form (or should I use a double opt-in??). Does it matter if my hoplink is visible after they are redirected? The other option I've been considering is direct linking (I'm not sure if it's actually direct linking). For example, when I Google "fat rich pig" I notice if you click NowMediaReviews and ReviewScamTeam ads it takes you to a hop link (w3.thefatrichpig.c0m/index.html?hop=theiraffiliateid). This is thing I'm most confused about ... direct linking, redirects, cloaking, domain forwarding. Could someone please explain or point me to a link that does? In the previous examples, what are exactly are they doing, what are the pros/cons, and what's Google's/CB's opinion/policies on this? Lastly, should I keep it simple and send traffic to one landing page at first to see if the product actually sells and then move forward trying to better optimize the landing page? Or should I initially create multiple landing pages and split test them? Thanks in advance ... I'm sure there's other noobs wondering the same things..
