Ok, so how much are you offering for getting this site ranked on the first page for a couple keywords. Ranking for realistate will be near impossible, but i can get other relevent keywords.

I need to know how much I will make a month first thought.

    fotbal5,
you are saying that ranking for real estate is near impossible. If so, and if it is difficult, why would that be. Why is there such high competition, and are most people not happy to start promoting real estate websites.

I wanted to know, because I am working on a real estate website in the Costa Blanca (Spain) and here especially the real estate business is very competitive.

    Waiting for your anwser.

Real estate is not easy to rank high for, so don't expect it. When doing seo for a real estate site, you have to think territorially. It's not like most people hop on google and type in "real estate" when they want a house anyway. If you want people from Cowtip, Alabama, you'd want to use key phrases like "Cowtip, AL real estate" , "Cowtip AL homes for sale", etc. When you get one area done, move on to the next. Then one day maybe you WILL be on first page of google for "real estate". :p

No I did not mean, for the term "Real Estate" itself because:

    1. It's a waste of time, and effort
    2. The keyword is too competitive, and also if I would not be working on it for a year or so I would not get there.

I was talking about the Niche real estate, and obviously I use the localities and so.

Try oDesk then. I have a guy I hired on there who is great to work with, isn't afraid to ask questions, does some of the best seo work I have ever seen, and best of all....he's cheap. I give him anywhere from 6-8 hours of work a day and it's the best decision I have ever made. Great thing is...there are a lot of people on there who are just as great.

How does the person doing the work scam proof their effort if they have to do all the work and then you pay them?

    It is called a C O N T R A C T. Once you give your quote and we make the agreement and I start paying you according to our agreement. Lets say you and I agreed such following;

    1. $200 after ketword research and analysis
    2. $ 300 after meta tag and contect optimization.
    3. $ 200 link building...
    list goes on and on...

I will also teach you how you guys actually apply for a job...

    • When you are interested in a job. First PM the person and ask for more information and tell them how you are qualified to do the Job.
    • Then show some of your portfolio and references
    • Next, Build trust by showing your website, providing your contact info, etc. to make the person feel secure
    • After the consultation. Do your homework and send a report or list of the things that you can do for that person.
    • Attach your resume and your quote for the job.
    • Finally, Structure a payment plan and enter into a contact with the authorized person of that company.
Note: If you are looking for SEO jobs , best way to make first initial contact is to send a free website report. This will make website owner feels like you are willing to put some effort and work into his/her project . Besides after the free customized information, they feel more obligated to talk to you.
We call it breaking the ICE

I am am Business Consultant to many companies here in NY besides my Internet business. So anybody feel free to PM me If you have any questions.

    DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKES:

    • Do not ask the person upfront , what the payment would be . Because they don`t even know you yet.
    • Do not ask what the rating of the site. Because it is very easy to find out from free reports.
    • Do not ask If they had any entries to google, yahoo... Because, all it takes is to write "site:www.whatever..." to find out what entries has been indexed.
    • Do not promise #1 ranking in 1 month. Because it is impossible to achieve for long term. It takes about 5 - 6 months to get greatest results with white hat.

You are right and you are wrong at the same time when you say it takes 6 months plus. That really depends on how competitive your keywords are. I know real estate keywords for some area that would be doable in a month, of course your site would disappear after a couple more if you don't do anything at all to it but well that's also true if you had 6 months work and then stop.

I wasn't trying to be difficult in asking the question so I hope you didn't take it that way. I am very familiar with the term CONTRACT, having done a bit of law when I was a bit younger.

My biggest concerns for undertaking work on the terms you put forward would be these:

    * How would the contract be enforceable (if you decide not to pay)
    * What sort of 'consideration' (this is necessary for most contracts to be valid) you would provide.

Now I am sure what you've outlined above is the industry standard for freelance work on the internet, however, I never take on any work unless the buyer is willing to make a deposit. If they make a deposit it signifies intent and I then have the confidence to start working.

I understand your points clearly and I hope your project is successful.

    All the best,

    T10
