Hey BHW I need help with Radio/T.V. advertising and getting some ads on local buses and taxis (mostly for Maryland) but also interested in national T.V advertising.

I have a lot of local business owners who have expressed interest as well as some other business owners that are more national. Anyone here have much experience with any of the above platforms please feel free to chime in.

It's an Algo, of course it can be gamed.

I've done those ads in the financial services industry and had very little success... not sure what you are promoting but that was a fail for us on buses.

Not trying to discourage, just trying to share.

I'm originally from Maryland and continue to market there for various products. You need to provide a lot more information about what markets you want to target and the products being offered. There is a big difference marketing to somebody in Dundalk vs. Frederick, so YMMW.

    1) Are they trying to build a brand and/or sell a product?
    2) What is their/your experience marketing via ads, radio and television?

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

Both I have one client who specializes in physical therapy and wants to get more patients in Northern Maryland ( they are located in Padonia so would be targeting people in Baltimore County, and surrounding Counties.

I have another Client who is a dating Coach and would be interested in more national or even international targeting single males, single females, couples married/living together. The dating Coach would be trying to sell his products and get more visitors to his site and radio show that he has.( Note I am already helping him with SEO on his site and promoting his stuff on the internet. )

What is their/your experience marketing via ads, radio and television?

I have done some testing with Radio ads but not done much with television. They don't have any experience.

    np thanks for sharing

    A few thoughts

    1) How much money does the physical therapist want to spend on advertising monthly?
    2) How is he/she currently marketing and advertising?
    3) Are his/her patients mostly people with insurance or cash customers? What kind of insurance do they accept? Group Insurance? Medicare? Medicaid? Other government assistance programs?
    4) Has he/she done any PR work?
    5) What demographic do they want to target? Women? Seniors? Teenagers? Etc.?
    6) Is it a one person shop or do they have multiple professionals?

I agree with Bass regarding his thoughts on financial products unless you are talking about a multi-million dollar campaign vs. the local cheesy commercials you might see. You gotta think outside the box to make physical therapy enticing!

A lot of my clients are doctors and most of them have one thing in common. They do not operate their businesses like the average OCD-Alpha Male Self Employed zealot! The one line I always use to bring them down to reality is, "Out of every class of 100 doctors there is always somebody who was the 100th person, what do YOU DO to show people that person wasn't you? What are the benefits I can achieve with your services? How will that make me feel? How will others view me? There are tons of questions that need to be answered when it comes to designing things. The health care field is very much so a referral type business. Is there a referral system set up now or not?

    1) What is the Dating Coach's background? Therapist? Counselor? Motivational Speaker, etc?
    2) What type of products is he selling? Ebooks, videos, etc?

I have two Telly Awards, so I know a thing or two about making quality videos, although to be honest I haven't picked up a video camera professionally in years. All 3 mediums are VERY expensive!

A while ago an associate of mine gave me his guide to PR encompassing press releases, radio interviews, etc. I'll try to find it since it might help you and other people on the forum.
