Need Quick Help! I just sold my website

Ok.. so I just sold a website and I've never sold a site before.

How do I hand everything like hand all of the website stuff over? It's written in HTML and it's just an informational site. All it has is AdSense and Clickbank crap on it.

So no CMS or any scripts/add ons to hand over, I'm just curious how to hand all this stuff over since I've never sold a site before.

Hey man, you should call up your provider and ask them how. I know Host Gator has some nice support, and can actually transfer all the data for you.

Ah really? I'm with Host Gator. Yeah, sounds like a pretty newb question but I've just never sold a site before.

1) Transfer the domain from the domain registrat (e.g. godaddy) to the buyer's godaddy account

2) Take all the FTP files for that website, and mysql database, and hand them over to the buyer. Tell them to upload all the FTP files to the website folder, and run the mysql databases (if necessary). That's it I guess. =/

3) Tell them to change all the adsense codes & clickbank links to their own ID. On second thought, maybe skip this step.

Not a bad day.. sold a laptop for $250 that's prolly worth a pack of bubble gum, and a sold website that I've been too lazy to push any traffic to for $300.

If you have cpanel hosting account at host gator you can do a home directory backup which will put your entire site in a zip file for you. Since he said no cms or databases he doesn't have to worry about anything else.

And if your feeling nice you may want to include any source files if there are any for the graphics.

And yeah, where did you sell it?
