I understand there is an "age factor" if your domain is new and you have backlinks from PR10 sites you still wont rank because the domain is new. Is this TRUE?

well, anyway, I have 2 domains

    EMD bought october 8
    not EMD bought august 17

I am in a bit of an urgent situation and need to rank as quickly as possible.
    which domain?

Both domains are very young. I would go for the EMD if it suits your needs better.

Your option to get ranked fast would be do go viral/social in some way. A "normal" amount of backlinks quickly added might just get you into some sandbox very soon...

Having more diverse structure is important. Whatever the domain you are targeting, make sure your onpage seo is good and create quality backlinks. Also, get some social signals as well.

There is only 7 weeks difference between those dates (unless you missed a year?).
There is not practical difference between the 2, they are both very new.
Some say EMD's still give you a bonus. It won't penalise you. Look at which is the best - shortest, not clumsy etc...

Really OP there is not enough age difference between the domains to separate them. Choose the one domain
that would work best for branding.
