to me, black friday seems like a scam. last 2 black fridays I went to clothing stores to shop for clothes, and things are not any cheaper than other days.

I am wondering if the same applies to electronics. I need a laptop. should I wait for black friday? if a laptop is $300 now, how much will it be black friday?

Usually only certain, poor quality electronics are discounted greatly on black friday. Everything doesn't get discounted. When it comes to a laptop, I'd get one with the specifications that meet my needs, not because it's been marked down.

I've made that mistake in the past several times and I end up spending more money on upgrades than just waiting a little longer and getting wait I actually need.

Online usually has better deals during cybermonday than black friday though.

When it comes to Laptops, every day is discount day. You just need to find some decent sites and keep an eye on the deals. Last three Laptops I bought were from ebay.

Find local computer geeks like me and befriend them. I've got all sorts of laptops and desktops and if you're a decent dude, I'll give you a good deal every time. It's sorta like how everyone needs a friend with a truck. I never buy from stores, even on black friday.

On BF, prices are a little cheaper for good products, and prices are a lot cheaper for things that usually don't sell (shitty quality).
I don't think you can get a great discount for a good product, no matter what day is.

Whenever I buy a new computer (or laptop) I usually see how much I want to spend and use price comparisons to see several shops with the same model and then buy it heavily discounted to feel like I made a good deal. Depending on your location you can use price comparison websites to find a good deal.
