    You might search out "whitebook" or "white book" or "barebones laptops"
    these are stripped down without, wireless cards, cpu, hard drive and memory.

    The idea is you buy those and install them which theoretically saves you money because the labor if done by you instead of the mfgr.

    Key is finding the components on sales.

    Keep in mind their are only a few companies that actually make laptops.

    The branded companies normally buy these premade units and install the components and slap their name on it.
