Trying to drive sales and traffic to a small e-commerce sites with 100 items or so. Doing SEO (black hat naughty stuff and white hat) and would like some ideas to drive MORE traffic outside these norms. I thought about stuff like PPV, and CPA but don't know enough about them yet to tell if they're a good fit. Trying to think outside the box.

I am not great with the social stuff or paid advo but what has worked for me so far are press releases. Sure they are pricey but depending on your profit you can see a good ROI.

The pr's tend to get picked up by news sites which have their own traffic and if you put the proper keywords in the title and summary you have a chance of showing up onn page 1 of google/yahoo/bing for a couple days as "news" for that keyword.

We convert sales through these visits. Has been worth the investment for us, took me a couple weeks to figure out how to phrase the titles/summaries though. It appears using the main kw's and a variation in both areas is very helpful so "stuffing" those parts of the PR is ok.

    Example-
Title- ThopHayts Widgets announces new redesign of Red Widget Page.

Summary- Reputable retailer of red widgets and other widgets adds new valuable information to widget site.

Body- Blah Blah Blah kw backlink Blah Blah Blah

Thats interesting. Thanks for the idea!

Are these PRs paid, or can anybody post on the ones you're talking about? I've done spammy PR's before, but this is different.
