Need help with shopify

    Hey, does anyone know a way to send a e-mail to customers after they order on my website? Like a e-mail saying thank you for ordering or something like it.

    also, how do you guys give the tracking number to customers?

    when you fulfill the order you send them a mail that their order is received and shipped. you can edit the mail in settings > notifications > (i don't remember which option but you'll find it when you see it :))

    i dont think you need to send them an email after they make the purchase because when you fulfill the order in a day or two, you will email them again, and that is a bit spammerish (in my opinion).

    Have you tried an external app to send emails automatically?

    Do I only fullfill them once they are shipped? shopify sends a email automatically?

    Shopify won't send it automaticly, you will select a box on the final step of order fulfillment process

    what i used to do is this:
    1. wait till the money from the purchase are transferred to my payment processor (i used 2co) - max waiting time is 48h
    2. order the product from aliexpress
    3. fulfill the order the second i order the product
    4. select SEND MAIL TO CUSTOMER on the final step of order fulfilling process

    if you are too lazy to to fulfill orders manually, get OBERLO, its an app and its free if you have less than 500 or 100 (not sure how many) orders monthly. That was my favorite app for shopify. (they have loads of great other features, not just the fulfilling thing).

    ***i never bothered to put the tracking code to every order, just the ones that contacted me to ask for it.

    Did you have problems for not using paypal? Scared/abandoning consumers?
    Also, why wait 48 hours for the money to get processed, if they paid, it's a matter of time, no need to wait 2 days for nothing? Or maybe they can cancel? I'm new to this, so just asking what's best.

    my country is one of the few countries that cant accept payments from paypal - yay! however, 2co has the option to accept a payment via paypal, so that is why i waited till it the payment status is "pending payout" - it is really easy for users to click the refund/cancel button and it would result in me sending them a product for free (if i order it right away).

    If i was in, lets say USA, i'd use shopify payments as a primary payment option, and paypal as a second one. So if you can, do use paypal too :)

    I'm using SendCloud, it automatically sends en email to the customer after an order has been placed and after the order has been shipped.

    I'm not sure if SendCloud works in every country but we only pay for the shipping costs (which is cheaper than when we go to the postal office and send a package).
    So basically you only pay for shipping and everything else is for free. Everything else = order system, receipt to print and put on your package, standard email with tracking that is being sent to the customer etc.
