Need help with SEO

Hello,

im trying to do my own seo for my e-commerce website as i dont have the money to pay for this service. i just have a few questions and hopefully somebody can help.

-how many times can i use a keyword in a page?
-how good is the content (paragraphs) suppose to be? im trying to write my content simple so people can understand clearly the first time they read it, can that hurt my ranking with the search engines? website grader says its at Primary / Elementary School level.

Try to keep 5-7% keyword density/page.

No it cant hurt your rankings. High school level should be good enough but I guess Elementary works just as fine.

I keep keyword density around 3%...

About language it's good to have simple... What I believe as simple language as better your chances are...

It depends on your niche but most moderate to high volume search terms require hundreds of keyword matches in the HTML source to be competitive for page 1. I'd say search for you words and count word matches in the top 10 results. I find it is good to know the min max and average. Then look are the number of backlinks and PR. again min max and average. This will loosely estimate how much work it will eventually take to get to page 1. Sometimes you can find short cuts by finding the page 1 PR3+ site with the fewest backlinks and no DMOZ links and quite often they have implemented the most optimal SEO for the niche to get there quickly.

In general, let the SERPs tell you what it takes to be competitive.

Using a lost of keywords will not give better ranks,on page optimization is a very basic level,you will need backlinks.

Just use the basic of on page,and start to look for backlink sources.

im shooting for 2 main keywords for my website, i have each main keyword listed 4 times in my home page and other keyword that are minimal i have them listed once and and a couple twice. i did a keyword density search through seotools and it says im at 16% for each of my main keywords, and i compared the keyword density results and thats what my competitors have as well and their in the 1st page. so im guess im ok.

-i was kind of concernced about the language because seotools said my content was poor and childish lol.
-backlinks im building 20 a day, my friend was doing 20 and hes on the 4 page of google and has been there in the top 10 pages for a long time now.
