I am new to MS as well and from what I gather, It is best to find keywords with no too much competition. I am thinking pick five keywords that have 5000 searches a day keeping aware of the seo competition. If you take a look at the videos on MS he kind of goes into this a little. I also read a book called micro niche adsense, its here on the forum somewhere that gives some good info on this as well.

OK so - There is like, 25000 different ways to attack your problem and any answer I give is bound to be either controversial or put down or argued with but I dont give a shit so here goes

    My strategy is this

pick a longtail BUYING phrase (cheap skates for sale - - not skates or cheap skates - you get th idea) with a search vol of at least 1000 in Googles keyword tool for exact match

enter your keyword into google -

get results - scroll to bottom - click through to last result -

see the volume of results decrease accordingly. anything less than 200 odd is EASY PICKINS

THEN open up MS, enter keyword and run SEO competition. Look at PAGE RANK for the first five and DOMAIN AGE

anything less than a 5 or higher ranking on page one is not too profitable

Run over to cbreceipt dot net, go to the seo tools section on the right hand menu, search older posts and grab the crack of a very powerful seo software which I am not allowed to mention in this forum but is used in NUCLEAR war on the search engines, install that and do the niche research on your keyword. If the result says anything higher than doable dont do it but if it says extremely easy, easy or doable then that is your keyword

you may as well grab seosuiteprocorporateversion while you are there and just use that to do all your seostuff on

Name your domain - it IS the keyword - eg cheapskatesforsale.com or dot net or dot org - NOT any other TLD

You are only trying to rank for ONE key phrase at a time

For the other keywords enter your favorite keyword in to google and then go to the left, where it says "options"

Scroll down to the bottom to the google "wonder wheel"

    Click that

The results ARE your latent semantic index keywords - the other ones GOOGLE says is relevent to the one you just punched in. Create content around these as well and each page will rank well

so you end up with something like cheap skates for sale, find cheap skates, low cost skates etc

load up wordpress through your fantastico button on your cpanel. If your host aint got cpanel get a new host

load up plugins 1,seo_6 in 1 pack,2 google sitemapxml,3,bf blogtheme,4 amazon autoposter,5seo blog from jeff johnson and maybe flexisqueeze theme. You can get all these if you do a quick search. what cant be had straight off google can be got through either here (BHW) or CBRnet or by using the following search terms in google

site, colon, DOMAINNAME (no www or http) then filetype:

    so you end up with

    enter allintitle then a colon
    site:domainname filetype:
site:freestuff.com: filetype:htm - or html - or php - or - whatever file type you are after

remember - if its on google its PUBLIC PROPERTY

I'm no expert, but... here's my $.02. Make of it what you will.

Generally speaking, you only want one main keyword for which you shall optimize. "Buyer" keywords are, of course, the best. Your site should then have four or five secondary keywords relative to that main keyword. Don't go apeshit with hundreds of keywords, and from what I have gleaned, keyword stuffing does not really work as it once may have.

Think of it like this: if you were selling hammers and wanted to pick only one local brick-and-mortar store in which to market them, where would you sell the most: Wal-Mart, Home Depot, or Mom-N-Pop Hardware? You get the idea.

As a wise man once said, "I know nothing."

I don't really know much about that problem. But, I think it would be better to have choose about five to ten keywords with have above 3000 or 5000 searches in a month.
