need help with a slideshow

Well trying to help out a family member, and design really is not my thing so figured you guys may have some ideas. It's really fucking simple. She wants a script that pulls images from a dir for a slideshow, but no other shit, just starts at picture one, and you can hit next or back. All the shit I can find myself has all the other bells and whistles, or doesn't pull from a dir (she basically wants to be able to just ftp in new photos to be added, not edit script). No resizing or thumbnails need to be done, or anything like that.

Any help would be appreciated as always.
