but traffic remains at 1-3 UV per day

Simple, 7000 Followers is enough to drive 20-150 Visits a day max if they are high quality engaging niche related followers.

You need access to good group boards in your niche and then create sales funnels (articles, diy tutorials, recipes and place your ads/products there).

You should read up on smartfeed and catch up on how Pinterest works. Also, check on your followers. Most of us who have been doing this for awhile is in agreement that bots and other IMers make up about half or more of your follower count. If this is the case for you, then you'll have to adjust your expectations.

Try to focus on niche based PIN. Follow a miche niche at first, build target audience and then it'll build up strong traffic method.

You have to get the traffic and following first, then hit them with the sales pitch.

If you post stuff that's only related to what you're selling nobody will click IMHO.

Simple - if you did a follow/unfollow tactic to get those 7k, then that is really low number of followers to expect any traffic. If you had 1k followers but they are organic and actual people, you would be seeing much more traffic. When you start unfollowing, the bots will fall off themselves and it will be like a filter - most of the real profiles will stick and only then you can now how much followers you have.

Try doing various versions of of graphic to see which one convert to traffic better. In my niche, I've tested various graphics version and end up using meme types and it converts to traffic better than something else.

In most niches pictures alone are not enough. You don't want to target people pining a nice picture gallery but people actually pining stuff they want to know. I found with a very good picture and a very neat headline in the picture you can get a CTR of up to 5 Percent.

that being said, overthink your pinning strategy. DIY, Budgeting-tips etc always work well. So let's say your niche is make-up then a pin with a new lip stick will probably not get any clicks at all, but a tutorial like "which lip stick color suits your secret personality" might get 100 a day.
BUT you do have to have a very solid strategy on how to convert these 100 readers of the tutorial into buyers.

Great insight! This should be the long term strategy for Pinterest marketers. Last Halloween, I heard a radio morning talkshow personality talking about how she got how-to decor tips from Pinterest. I believe that it was an unsolicited mention kinda like how we tell people to google things. Ultimately, how-to's are the best way to get clicks. That's why recipes work so well. Monetizing is another issue. But get the traffic first, get them clicking, then experiment with offers.
