At the moment I'm 17 years old and I have a nice paying job in sales over the phone and I also have an (currently growing) online shop on which I work on for 3-4 hours every week.

The problem is that I will start college in May 8th and I have a problem, I don't know what would be better, either pursuing an online venture or keep working in my job.

I'm very disciplined and I feel I could get better returns over the long term with an online venture (suggestions welcome), but keeping my job would be better for my resume, I don't know what to do!

Any help is greatly appreciated =)

I'm not doubting your abilities because I don't know of any because you didnt list them. But IM is a tricky thing if you don't know how. It can cost you a lot if you don't know what your doing. I'd try school work and spend an hour a day doing IM.

you need to advice yourself man. u know your situation better, sometimes you just need to think deep and get a better solution from within you for your problems asking for advice might confuse you.

Always have a backup career or trade so if it doesn't work out you have something to fall back on. Work at it part time to start

What kind of mistakes can cost me a lot?

I know plenty about IM, and I don't mind loosing a couple hundred dollars in the road to building IM income, but I just don't see in what case I could loose a whole lot than that.

    Cheers =)

Can't you do both? You only work 3-4 hours a week on your IM project.

If you don't know what can happen then you don't have enough knowledge do you?

Of course I know the risks, but what exactly is a lot of money to lose in IM to you?

Ok, that's interesting. I always like to read about unsuccessful ventures, do you mind sharing it so we can learn from it?

    Cheers!

Sure. I asked some experienced Internet marketers some advice and 1 took the time to answer me. And instead of taking their advice I desided to shit head and ask about their failure. Cost me my poetential relationship with them of being a successful im'er.
    Hope this helps!

    Follow these steps:

    1) Continue your day job
    2) Keep on reading this forum and start taking action.
    3) Once you gain experience and start earning some money, scale it up.
    4) invest more money to diversify your online earning sources.
    5) Once you are fully experienced and earn enough to live a good living, leave your day job and start working full time on IM.
    6) Don't get carried away. Being Focused, Disciplined & setting targets are the recipe for IM success.

    All the best..
