How old is your site? Is the content unique? Are your titles and meta-descriptions unique? What did you change 2 months ago?

Your site is probably too new to get credit for backlinks... try:

    link:example.com -site:example.com

if nothing shows up then your site is probably too new to get backlink credit yet.

If your titles and descriptions occur on other sites verbatim this will get you filtered as a lower PR duplicate. Doesn't matter if content is actually unique... if it looks like a dupe in the SERPs google will treat it as a dupe.

Google Webmaster Tool under HTML appearance will tell you if you have dupe titles and descriptions on your site. You have to "exact search" your titles to check for offsite dupes in titles and descriptions.

Odds are nothing is wrong and you just need to wait longer for Google's new site precautions to wear off. If you still don't have backlinks after 10 months of age then you probably ran afoul of penguin in your link building. But I'd bet that no human being at google knows or cares about your website and all you need to do is wait a little more to get your backlinks.

Depends how aggressive you've been... If you have been building 10 good links a week then keep it up... If you have been using xrumer to make 50,000 links per day then you should probably stop doing that.

Totally sounds like you just need to wait longer.

Check on your webmaster if you are not confirmed.Because many people feel that their site penalized but the truth is something else.

Its really up to you... if you the the link building you are doing won't upset google then keep doing it. If you think it has a good chance of getting you in trouble then stop...

My personal preference is to keep building high quality links no matter what... but I'm not very risk adverse either.

There is a good chance that you will hit the magic age to get credit for backlinks and then your work will fall somewhere on the spectrum of "no effect" to "pay day"... depends on the quality of the links you have been building. If your links are totally spammy then there is another outcome for that. :)

If I had a new site... I would keep moving forward on the premise that at some point I'll be competing toe to toe and every quality link and article will matter.

A good thing to do while waiting for backlinks to kick in is to set up your social marketing plan... the blog posts you make for SEO are often the same blog posts you can promote on twitter or with facebook sponsored stories. Building those audiences (or youtube subscribers, or email subscribers) is often the most valuable asset of the business. If you ever sell the business the audience is what people are going to bid on. It's never too soon to start building audience and you have a few months before SEO will come into effect for your site.

As I said before in other threads, just do not believe these online tools. Your site should be perfectly fine unless you blasted shit ton of links on it.
