Need help monetizing an Adult Forum

Hey guys,

I've been lurking here for a long time but only recently registered. Well, I basically have an adult forum http:// tinyurl.com/68nh7g (remove the space before tinyurl.com) and I've been trying to monetize it using dating affiliate programs from Copeac and loadedcash but I've had no luck so far.

I'd really appreciate if you guys could give me some insight on how to monetize this website.

That's some nice activity you've got going on that site. Do your users like cam girls much? If they do then the free lifetime referral program that webcams.com offers would be best, $25 per free referral =), I noticed that most porn sites like redtube etc use CPA ads, so maybe dont bother with ppc adult? I dunno. You could add a favourites list, the favourites being links to porn sites etc...

Your ads seem to all be vertical banner ads on the right side.

I would consider placing ads in a few more locations, including, possibly, between posts.

Get more variety in the ads that you have, and put them in rotation, so that you can do some real split testing on what converts.

Consider advertising phone related stuff as well as adult stuff (make sure with your AM that the campaigns are OK for an adult site) - you might be surprised to find that the phone stuff converts better. The logic is that most of your users have actually paid for a phone, but they are at the forum trying to get their porn for free. As I see it, from a profiling perspective, they are far more likely to convert on a phone offer then.

Thanks matt. And also, im sure if you can get a couple of members hooked to a site you can maybe have review threads. They would work as testimonials and should increase conversions.

Great catch, Wakkaoaka. Review sites (highly trafficed ones anyway) are cash machines. Every link is an affiliate link, and nobody even holds it against them.

Thanks guys for the tips, those are some very detailed insights indeed. So, you're suggesting that I go for ringtone offers instead of the dating ones.

Ringtone offers might work, but I was actually thinking more of phones/plans/accessories.

The point, though, is not so much the specific thing that is offered, but rather to put as many offers as possible, that are remotely appropriate to your visitor base, in rotation. You'll start figuring out what converts, and can start weeding out the crap.
