I have been doing SEO for a while and I am pretty good at getting traffic to my website and even getting click thrus to my affiliates, but I don't have the knack for making money.
I must admit I just started with affiliate marketing about 2 weeks ago and I haven't made a dime yet. I know it takes time, but I have the traffic and the click throughs . . . so time should not be an issue. In a weeks time I have had over 2,500 visitors to my new site and it generated over 400 clicks to my affiliates I have on the site, but no sales (or leads) yet.
Do anyone have any advice? Am I'm being impatient. What is the average conversion rate? I would have expected to make at least one sale with over 400 clicks. Do affiliates report in real-time or is there delayed reporting or does the actual sale have to clear in terms of product delivered and refund period over? I use CJ, Google Affiliate Network, and Linkshare.
My website is not the best designed and I know I can work on it, but it honestly is not the worst out there and is much better designed than many websites I've seen that make money on the web. Currently I use graphical advertising to get people to my site because of the low cost, but I target related sites.
Please share your advice and recommendations for improving my affiliate marketing efforts. thx
