Need help finding out what this chinese/japanese symbol means

    This is a chinese word. Meaning good, peaceful..

    Judging by the strokes, the first character on top, is 'shi' which is scholar or gentleman or soldier. The middle one is 'da' which means big , and the bottom one is the water radical 'chuan' which is stream, or river. So not really sure what it means. It could be a name, but that's a start for you.
