Guys I am working with copeac and I am expecting payment.

Payment is sent out on a net 15 basis(15th each month)

I spoke with my AM yesterday the 15TH. My AM said my check was sent out. I wake up today and I have a message in my email from some other person saying they work with copeac saying my Am is now sick and I have a hold on my account.

    This is what she said:

""I just went into your account and noticed that it is marked as a "hold for ID". This is automatic process done by our system any time two or more accounts have the same, or even just similar information. This feature is supposed to be a safeguard against potential fraud, but unfortunately this is not a perfect process. However, if you can send me a COLOR photo or scan of a valid ID we can flag your account as an accurate one so this never happens again and your payment will released ASAP. This is not an isolated incident and occurs to many accounts. I apologize for the inconvenience, in the long run it is meant to protect all of our affiliates. You can Scan it to this email address or fax it to the number in my signature.""

Is this bs anyone else ever need to do this? I feel like there keeping my check from me.

Hit up your AM or use contact information on the site, not a reply to the mail, to insure that it's legit.

Hmmm it could be a scam. A simple way to check is to look at the email address where that email originated and compare it with the email address that your actual AM. It should have the same address after the @ sign.

Of course it is imperative that you try to contact your AM asap. Don't just do what the email says. Sending a copy of your ID is highly dangerous.

^^ ok i was speaking from experience as far as copeac goes. it is not a scam to ask for id to prove who you are - networks do this on occasion to reduce fraud. they may also want a W9.

Its true that such things do happen. But isn't it a little too coincidental that the AM has suddenly fallen sick and his account is on hold for ID? I could be wrong but it doesn't furt to be careful.

If it helps, I had to submit a photo ID when I changed my address when I moved, and was told basically the same thing, I had a "hold for ID" on my account.

    :)

so probably its legit........though i still have this nagging suspicion over the coincidence of the AM falling sick with the "hold for ID".

This has happened before and answered before, this is completely normal in most situations. Just submit your ID and you will receive.

I would advise to call, and not deal with email if you're still suspicious.

I haven't had this happen with copeac (yet) though I had it happen with another network with the same reasoning. They just wanted to make sure I didn't have multiple accounts with them. Sent them a copy of my ID...got paid, and all was good.

We do verify ID of all accounts. If you want to PM me or email me to verify if the person requesting is legit feel free to. Or just email your ID to me or your AM and itll be sent to accounting.

We verify EVERYONE'S ID, its part of our process to reduce fraud.

Doesn't apply if you are working under a corporate name, you are an employee of the business then. So how many people getting requests for ID verification are making enough money now to scale themselves into a 'real' business?

Three posts up from this one, FYI, the CEO of Copeac replied. That was good of him to participate and clear up the issue. Thanks!
