Hi guys need some guidance regarding Amazon FBA for non-us citizen. I have done my homework, but there are specific points that I still have my doubts.

    * For imports (buy from China) it is true that custom needs FEIN number (only companies)? I have read on other forums that even though you get your EIN as non-us citizen, you will not be able to import to the US. Becuase you are not a US citizen. In that case will need the FEIN number, in which it is used for companies.

    * If you create a company in the US (LLC, INC, etc) it is obligatory to use a resident agent? Mainly i want to know this for cost purposes.

    * TAX question: let say for example I can import to the US using just my EIN number as sole proprietary (so I start my FBA journey importing from China). Since I am not a US citizen, it mandatory to pay tax?.

This is my main concern, I have read on several forum including amazon seller central. That, since you are not a US citizen, is not necessary to pay the taxes. Some people said you are exempted from federal taxes, but you need to pay the sales taxes. Others just said that you need to pay the taxes, but since your a non-us citizen and at the beginning, you are not making a million dollar sales. Just don't worry about it, worry when IRS catch you. o_O WTF!!!

Please really need some help from people that actually do FBA. Because if not, this threat will be the same as the others that I have read. Also, hope will help others that have the same struggle like me.

    Thanks in advance

    Lots of questions here goes...

You will get taxed import charges... I have gotten around this but for a low amount $16,000 I am a US citizen. You can avoid the taxes but it is a toss up honestly sometimes the IRS catches things sometimes they dont. Legally you are supposed to pay the taxes to both but if you also pay taxes in your country the US federal usually says you've paid enough it's ok dont pay us... the specific state doesn't care they will still collect the tax. You can get away with it as long as you aren't selling like crazy because it's not worth it to go after you on $20k in sales your tax would be about $3000 but if half went to buying and shipping (which they assume) you only made $10k so $150 in taxes is hardly worth the chase.
