I have a very controversial idea for a website. it is so controversial that i am sure the government would try to take it down within minutes of it going up. I need to make sure that there is no way for anyone to take it down.
I know about bulletproof hosting companies that are offshore. but what about domain registrars? Do I also have to make sure the domain registrar is not in the US?

edit: upon further reading, it looks like the term bulletproof is used for hosting services that are safe for sending spam.
I am not going to be sending spam. I am looking for a way to make it impossible for anyone to take down my site.

AFAIK if it is a first level TLD it will always bow down to the US government wishes as it is still a US corporate.

Even if you use rouge countries TLD the name resolution will still have to go through the 13 (?) root dns which can potentially be used to block name query resolution to your domain.

Your options really just to buy bunch of domains and mirror the data in as many places as possible and keep replacing them as they are taken down. You can use social network to let people know the new location

Yeah, bulletproof wont help you, DMCA takedown notices are childs play compare to this
