Hello. I need some advise. I'm trying to switch one of my money sites to ssl. I've done all the necessary steps and i'm down to the last step which is adding my site to search console. I've read a couple of guides stating the need to create two new properties for the www and non-www HTTPS versions. But since google has launched “domain properties,” feature, can I just use the domain properties feature instead of creating 2 properties for the www and non-www HTTPS versions in search console?

if I understood your question correctly.

This is the answer
You will have an option to add all forms of your domain at a single time

domain.com that's it it will count all forms of your website under the same line even if it www. or https or anything.

So just to confirm that i can just use the search console's "domain properties" feature without the need to create new properties for the www and non-www HTTPS versions?

That is the best way to do it, however, you will face a problem with DNS change as required by Google to add the whole domain name.

Google wants you to verify ownership of the domain by adding TXT DNS record at your registrar level. However, if you are hosting away from your registrar, then you can not add a TXT record at the registrar (as your domain name servers are not your registrar name servers). Even if you try to add a TXT record, there will be a note saying you are not using their NS. I am assuming you are hosting your site somewhere other than your registrar.

So your best bet would be to add individually.

I suggest you Domain Property, where all forms(like www,https...) of your website is combined as a single.

Use SImple Really simple plugin on wordpress
