    Hey guys.

    I'm a web dev living in Bangkok. I met a lot people working in affiliate marketing there but I was never really into it. Not until I meet that guy during a party who was making a TON of money in affiliate marketing.

    I would like to start something but I don't know where to start considering that I already know :

    - Web design (Responsive as well) / PHP;
    - Hosting (Amazon AWS, Linux Ubuntu);
    - Massive followers BOT for social network

    I was thinking about making micro blogs and put some amazon products or landing pages (I'm really good at web design).

    What are your advices ?

    Thanks you

    How much is a ton of money? 7 figures per year? 8 figures per year?

    Yeah, you're right. There's a lot of affiliate marketers in Thailand. They really like it there lol

    Why not ask them how they do it?

    Affiliate marketing is really about paid traffic. Most of the guys doing big numbers in AM do so through paid traffic. Adsense and Facebook are the biggest traffic sources. Ofcourse there are many others including PPV networks, 2nd tier advertising networks, mobile traffic etc etc.

    It has a big learning curve though and it takes a lot of knowledge, creativity, skills,luck and money to throw away to be successful in affiliate marketing. There is a popular saying in the AM industry "You got to burn money to earn money"

    Could you detail specifically what the "big learning curve" is? The clarification would be helpful, because then I could devote my time to learning those topics.

    I invested enormous amount of time doing some affiliate marketing about two years ago, and I basically broke even on my efforts because I was new. I didn't realize that just promoting one product was a dumb way to go. I essentially paid for all my traffic with my front-end offer sales.

    Had I only known back then that you need a back-end!

    I gave it up... didn't communicate with my list (which was getting pretty sizable) since I was discouraged... went into Amazon arbitrage, which I hated.

    I'm now getting back into affiliate marketing. I know the basics.

    I'm more interested in tactics.

    Any advice would be helpful. I've been looking through threads here, but there doesn't seem to be a central place where specific tactics are being shared. You have to do a lot of digging.

    Hey,

    I would just suggest a simple thing. You need to join an active affiliate marketing community and have good cash to burn. I'd suggest having $5k as money to throw away.

    Join Stack that money forum. It costs like $100 a month but it is focussed on CPA...
