Firstly, I am new to all this. Secondly. I have recently uploaded two apps on the playstore as a test. They are both polished and function well. I made them myself from scratch. 1 - Is a kids learning application. Very well polished. Currently is not monetized. 2 - Hyper casual style endless game but not another endless runner. Not a code flip and not a blatant copy of an existing game but same one click style game. Both of these field are extremely competitive. Especially on the playstore. I am curious to see if theres any hope in the playstore then I can push these two onto the appstore since the appstore naturally does better generally. When I launched them without any marketing whatsoever I didnt get any organic downloads. I have tried bare minimum facebook/google ads marketing so far. Both generate installs and in my very little testing, I felt the google ads did a little better then facebook. I have about 500 downloads or so in both total currently right now. My marketing so far has been literally a dollar a day on both. I am also new to marketing using ads and I am learning online marketing campaigns and such. I try to use good images and texts in my campaigns where ever possible. With my dollar a day marketing Ill get like 10-20 installs a day and i think the most I got was 80 for one app in like a day which was oddly surprising. Question 1 - I dont know so much about SEO. I have tried to put in keywords in the app names and descriptions and such and also taken inspiration from competitor apps which are doing well in the stores. Outside of that, are there any low cost SEO options/solutions I have? I dont understand how key word rankings are done and people talk about their apps ranking in different countries etc and I dont know how to check or know etc since I have so few download. I also dont know how relevant keyword ranking stats are with so few installs etc. Question 2 - Seeing as how these are competitive niches am I just wasting money and time? Is there zero chance of actually growing these apps so that they actually pay later if I add ads and such. Of the two apps I feel the learning app ads value and its targeted towards kids and in fact my own little nephew really loves it. I can see people actually downloading and keeping the app in their phones. The hyper casual game, while I am proud of it... its single mechanic game doesnt have any progression in terms of store or anything like that. And I feel like people will play it enjoy it one time and then uninstall it. Essentially part of what I am curious about is are these apps in their current state capable of even breaking even. Question 3 - How important are reviews? I personally always look at ratings and reviews before downloading an app. I have currently been adding reviews. Mostly friends and family and some paid reviews. Does buying more reviews help? Also to that end, does it matter if I just buy a lot of reviews on the same time or should I do it as a trickle 1-2 reviews per day as I have been doing. I mean in terms of playstore algorithm if I dump like 50 reviews on them will that suddenly boost things for me? I also hear people say that SEO is the most important thing before doing anything and I just dont know where and how to begin. My attempt at seo has like I said simply been looking at competitors descriptions and such and trying to imitate them. I am looking for honest advice as to where I should start. Thanks.
