One of the things you see everyone doing is including the ability for user feedback/ratings/comments/discussion. It not only adds to the user experience, but also creates some user-generated content, and if properly implemented can increase conversions.

On product sites, it's always reviews. Blogs, comments. etc.

The website this is being considered for (and all the other websites of our competitors for that matter) are all service-based legit businesses, but none of them have gone the route of adding user comments or discussion.

It's all sales-pitchy stuff. Almost all of these sites have "testimonials" of people raving about the business, but that is just not enough imo.

I like the idea of our clients being able to comment on the services they purchase from us, or make a suggestion as they see fit.

However I'm just not sure the right way to pull it off. Allowing comments at the bottom of each services' page is an option, but this would quickly become cluttered as it lacks good organization.

No one has enough to say about this industry for forums, it's mostly business to business.

Can anyone offer some advice on how to go about getting this stuff on a services site?

    Thanks for the time!

A review or comment of your service is still a testimonial. Call it whatever you want. I agree that most of the testimonies on a sales page look suspect. Give yourself credibility by having a form for submitting testimonies or reviews.

I would have a couple reviews on the service page with a link to more reviews. The link would go to a new page SEO optimized for the service's keyword + reviews ie. "Lawnmower Repair Reviews".

Also there are third-party sites that collect service reviews. Since they are independent it gives more credibility, but could be bad if you get negative reviews.

I believe you can use service like Get Satisfaction. You can also ask your customers to leave comments on sites like MyWOT or use speec bubble testimonials, a few youtube videos of customers, etc. Just get creative with whatever makes sense for your audience.

When you do add testimonials or review on your site, make sure you use the hReview tag so they are added to Google Places!
