    hi guys

i am almost done my Fiverr like site - and was wondering if anyone had tips on making a site like that successful?

I know many of us are doing it - so hopefully some good experiences can lead to some conversations :)

FYI: Mine is CANADA focused, no don't feel threatened, I am not your direct competitor.

You are taking on an 800lb Gorillla, the only way you can compete is with a bank as big as Apple!

To take on a site like fiverr that has s strong hold and market presence already, you need to come up with a unique value proposition. There has to be a VERY good reason for someone to come to your site vs. fiverr. Come up with a marketing concept to persuade and entice people to try out your site. Put yourself in the clients shows and figure out what would draw them to you. Maybe make the first 1000 vendors commission free so they make a little more with you and give some prizes away to people who use the services of your vendors. Be creative.

@photoman - thanks.. that is exactly i was thinking. I have no plan to take over Fiverr cause that wouldnt happen - but you can have a piece of the pie though! In Canada Fiverr is not popular..and the only player here is not well know.. so that is my edge. I am also thinking of offering a flat monthly rate rather then a PER SALES basis. Hope this will give me an edge. ALso there is media behind it as usual :)
