I have a dating app and Facebook does not allow me to run any ads on their platform.

We've been running some Twitter ads with small success but inventory is small. Does anyone have any ideas how we can ramp up acquisition at this price? ($0.60)

I you're need tier 1 geo traffic, I think .60 will be tough - especially for quality installls/users. Acquiring female users at .60c for tier 1 traffic might not happen with paid traffic.

I'd look into POF, targeted display ads (start with Adwords before going with any DSP platform), or maybe run with an affiliate network as an advertiser. Or maybe even try an organic approach. Look into buying Instagram shoutouts, press releases, reaching out to bloggers, etc...

Looks like POF isn't accepting anymore advertisers.
With Instagram shoutouts, is the idea to drive users back to your own Instagram profile and convert them from there or try to convert them directly from Instagram?

Any suggestions for solid DSPs if I wanted to go down that route?

Wow I didn't even know that. They probably just closed their self-serve platform, but you might be able to still advertise with them through Adwords.

I've personally never done Instagram shoutouts, so I can't really say. I'd start by paying a hot chick with 10k+ followers to make a profile and advertise herself there or something along those lines. Maybe make a fake profile, build it up to 10k+ yourself and put a link to your app in the bio. You'll have to be creative, but there are a few threads here on BHW that should give you some ideas. IMO this is probably the most realistic way to get installs at .60c

Trust me, you don't want to start with DSP. Go with Adwords first, and if you find a specific target/website that works really well for you, try going to a DSP to see if they have additional inventory for that publisher as well. I haven't ran with a DSP in quite some time, but Sitescout comes to mind - even though I've heard some bad stuff about their quality as of late.

Edit: I totally forgot to mention mobile ad networks that can get you cheap traffic (research first before you end up buying 80% bot traffic). And there's adult traffic networks like exoclick, trafficjunky, etc...

this is a very low price, unless if you want to buy some fake TRAFFIC

Congratulations to you! You get your app online. Yeah, as we know, Facebook has its own ads rules. Dating app if it is a porn ones, it can not run ads there.

So in order to attract more users to your app, you can buy install or reviews from real users. One side, you can get users all over the world. Another side, more installs and higher ratings will help app on overall ranking.

Exchange installs & reviews on social media networks where publishers can exchange installs and reviews each other, such as Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/8401...?ref=bookmarks

However, generating installs or reviews from real publishers will take much longer time. Because it is not so easy to get some ones to help you and some of them will not do same for you.

App store reviews

Reviews provider like http://www.bestreviewapp.com will guide real users to install app, play and reviews it with ratings. This method will rank app top in a short period. At the same time, the traffic is from real users which is organic. It will Not have bad impact on apps.

App boosting ranking in Trending Searches, Categories(Games, Social Networking, Utilities, Kids, Entertainment or any other categories) and Top Charts, such as Top Free, Top Paid. http://www.asotop1.com

Other than social media as a platform to promote, you can promote in app store as well. Such as to increase rating and reviews to boost ranking. If your app at very top in app store, it definitely would gain more visibility, and attract more downloads for sure.
Here I would like to recommend several ways for you to gain more reviews:

Exchange reviews with other developers.

There are many groups on networks where publishers can exchange installs and reviews each other. You can find those group of people at related forums, Facebook groups, and Google plus groups, etc. However, generating installs or reviews from users will take much longer time.

Implant an app review plugin.

Build-in an app plugin in your app allows users have a chance to give feedback to the app passively. Because most of the users would not like to review the apps actively. However, there are several things need to be noticed. The plugin should pop up only when users complete the task. Besides, always give an option for users to say “No”. However, it is not a very efficient way to boost reviews.

Get paid reviews

Buying app reviews from providers is also recommended . Since you need to spend money on that, it is important to choose a reliable providers who can guarantee that all of their ratings and installs are from real app users, such as reviewapp4u.com (http://www.reviewapp4u.com/). It would makes the reviews more trustworthy and persuasive for potential users.

How come both of you guys are promoting 3 sites in total, and coincidentally, they're all hosted on the same server?

I thought I'd report in with some updates.

1. We started running some Admob / adwords campaigns. We're seeing about a 10% click to install conversion. So if we're charging $0.08 per click, that turns into about $0.80~ per acquired user.
2. Twitter is pretty consistent too. It's about a 10% - 20% app store view to install.

Going to try to expand Admob to website clicks and see how that also converts. Will also make some hot Instagram profiles and see how that works as well, but honestly seems like a really long game plan.

Hi archert22,

I am with ayetstudios. We operate reward apps and just started CPA campaigns for Android. Bids start at $0.40. If you use a tracking provider in order to promote your app, you would be able to set an event like install, register and complete your profile. You could also try CPI campaigns and see about the retention.
If you try to acquire loyal user for $0.60 though, that will be very very hard to achieve.

Just PM me, if you want to talk a little more.
