I am looking for a program which could analyze a certain url. Meaning - I could see what traffic it is getting, where is this traffic coming from, what backlinks and where does the site has...all information about it. Are there any tools like this?

dude there is nothing better then google analytices. the best thing is that its free. you should try that.

Man SEOElite that works fine, i havent used it for ages now, but back when it came out, it used to work great, you could try out some free tools at spyfu.

I agree SEO Elite is fairly decent you may also want to try IBP. I think you can find both in the downloads section if you want to test them out

He's not talking about his own sites not sure if you caught that.

If analytics can be used to check on competition it would be great if you could please enlighten us as to how to do that.

SEOElite is pretty good. I'm not sure but I think WebCEO can do some spying perhaps. I haven't personally used it. They have a free lite version I think.
