Need a Proxy Switcher program

I'm looking for someone to make me a simple simple simple program that lets you switch on and off a proxy.

Basically I want the proxy switcher to either be pre-programmed with the ip address and port number or have it get the variables from a .txt file.

I'd also like a task bar icon to be displayed where users can simply click it to enable/disable the proxy (similar to the tor button in firefox). The proxy should work for all browsers (e.g. ie, ff, ns, op).

I'm not sure how difficult this will be to program and I'm open to all prices and help.

not sure if you are aware, but these types of programs exist already and many are already been posted right here at bhw. unless you've tried them already and you didnt like them, i would give some of them a shot first. you may find one you like already available

Not so much. A simple on/off for multiple browsers and a single proxy IP is, strangely, not really obviously available.

proxyfirewall does this. allows you to select which browsers use which proxy or no proxy at all for particular browser. unless i am confused about what is trying to be accomplished, i think something like this is what your trying to do ????

No, it doesn't.

There's no simple on/off switch for Proxyfirewall without editing the rule again. You can switch between proxies, but not whether or not one is in use. Read the bloody question.

ahh, you are correct, it does let you ROTATE through the list of proxies at one click, but NOT disable.. strange, for some reason i thought i remember it being able to do this.. my apologies .. they should really add that tiny feature to the next release. sorry for hijacking the thread wealthy, thought i had an instant solution for you.

but proxyswitcher pro seems to do it, and also allows you to leech proxys or import from files. you can toggle from direct connection to proxy and also have it rotate through proxies. if this does not work for you, then i will just shut up then lol

The thing is that all the stuff out there is far too complicated for what I want. All I need is a super simple program which enables/disable a proxy (that works with all browsers) with one click.

switchproxy was a plugin for firefox I used awhile back might want to try that out it worked well for me at the time been awhile since ive needed to use it though, hope that helps!
