    So for the past few months I have been working on creating an online marketplace for people to buy and sell goods similar to ebay but for a smaller demographic. I will not disclose everything on this thread, butI I have some general questions before I pour tons of money into this;
    I have one viable competitor so far. You always think your idea is undiscovered until you find someone already doing it!

    i mean : any idea for feature marketplace? C2C and B2B ? like, after seller upload product. their product automaticaly share in their facebook account / seller able to scrape potential buyer from twitter / facebook << this what i mean. idea for feature. b2b and c2c

    Thank you everyone!

    Well you need reviews of it. Why not have some on here review it and post about it?

    What are you trying to do. You have Ebay and Amazon, you have Etsy and a bunch of other smaller sites.
    I think you could try to find out what people dont like about those sites and then try to make a site that fixes those problems,
    being kind of Vague as i dont know what were talking about.

    the best thing I can suggest is connect with coupon and sale sites - feed them your products and prices. retailmenot bonanza etsy, etc.

    C2C is far easier to scale and compete with low end startup costs....niche will define your next steps....

    I don't know is more like hard to get target buyer next now buyer will research a lot of sites first to purchase and he/she happen to come to your site just after research a lot from other sites than you earn.

    This is how I feel. any thoughts?

    Ideas for a brilliant online market?

    Try this one. Selling Sunday Dinners online, but here is the catch. You only do them on Monday.

    No, like selling people complete packaged meals they can cook for dinner. It's a similar idea to http://www.sendameal.com/meal_of_the_month except you'd be sending them weekly. And instead of sending them on Sunday for Sunday dinners, you'd send them on Monday. Sunday dinners sent on Monday. Get it?

    As part of your market research it would be useful to interview the people who used your competitors service. They are the ones with the answers you seek.

    Please clarify your questions better as it was hard for me to decide how to respond to this. First you need to build your entire irresistible offer on solving a person's problem that makes them just want to buy from you instantly.

    You can't take the Amazon but cheaper approach unless you want to do a lot of outside investing to cover the cheaper prices and shipping / incentives / advertising costs. That doesn't include the operating costs or any unforseen growth and expansions. You need to simply just work on your sales copy and make sure your service and products sold are the highest quality at the value you have your customers perceive them at. There are billions of pizza kitchens, yet Domino's is still in business. They know their audience for each area, cater to it, license the name out and take a kick back on profits and costs. It comes down to 3 things; Psychology, Timing, and Resources. You have to know your audience emotions for buying and how to manipulate them into sales and repeat sales. You have to know what time and when to do something, or do nothing. You finally need to have money for advertising, research, operation, etc.

    The sole point of my response isn't to guide you to some all mystical book that will solve your problems. If you think you can afford it, hire the people that run Walmart campaigns and then just roll with that. If you can't afford it, then hunker down and start your research and testing phases until profitable.
