Tickets are being resold at around $2000 for the lower bowl - what the hell!?

The one time there's an All-Star game in Toronto, I'm going to have to pay an arm and a leg for it.

When the tickets were released, they literally sold out within 10-15 minutes.

Did anyone on BHW get lucky enough? Does anybody even like basketball around here? ;)

My wife would go if it were not basketball as she is a fan of the city of Toronto from her days on Parry Sound.

But really, the NBA All Star game is nothing more than a shoot around with some fireworks. They leave the defense home.

So true! To be honest, I only really wanted to go because it's such a large event around where I live.

I also love basketball.. and it's Kobe's last All-Star game! Like, ever!

EDIT: If anybody is going and happens to have an extra ticket or two... You know where I am ;)

Yeah, missed out on getting tickets. Again. I always leave it till last minute, thinking I bet I'll grab 'em this year, but nope.

Honestly, didn't think Kobe would actually announce his retirement, or I probably would have gone. I honestly think if it wasn't for those injuries, he'd still be playing at fairly high level. You seem glimpses every now and again, but yeah, if it wasn't for those injuries I had him playing at least another season.

If I was ever going to actually go to an All-Star event, this probably would have been the one (since it's local) - are you around Toronto?

There's tons of tickets on Kijiji, they're just listed for $2,000+.

I mean, the lower bowl tickets are $2k, which I guess is somewhat reasonable.. but would I REALLY want to pay that?

I'm thinking I might just head to Eaton Square or something and see if they're doing anything All-Star related.
