This is an email I received a couple of minutes ago:

    Code:
It's not often that we would disagree publicly with a competitor, but we at Namecheap are very disturbed by [URL="https://newsletter.namecheap.com/link.php?M=1221059&N=86&L=145&F=H"]this video[/URL] of a competitor killing an elephant for sport. Check out the [URL="https://newsletter.namecheap.com/link.php?M=1221059&N=86&L=144&F=H"]ABC News Report[/URL] (Warning: Very Graphic!)

We've decided to throw our support behind our Elephant friends by offering domain transfers at a price where we actually lose money.
Show your protest by saying BYEBYEGD again and transfer your domains to Namecheap for $4.99 for the next 24 hours through 11:59pm EST on 3/31/11 (limit 10 per user, valid for all com/net/org domains).

On top of that, we'll donate $1 for each transfer to Save The Elephants at [URL="https://newsletter.namecheap.com/link.php?M=1221059&N=86&L=146&F=H"]http://www.savetheelephants.org/[/URL]

Use coupon code BYEBYEGD and let's help the Elephants together!

    Regards,
    Team Namecheap

I don't know about you but I'm gonna remove all my domains from godaddy.

Damnit i was just about to post this. Its about time we stick it to the man. I don't know about you but if Bob Parsons has enough money to kill an elephant for sport then in my book he has too much money. Let's put this man back in the squirrel hunting category. I hate godaddy anyways

Dont buy domains from "X" company the owner has hunted an elephant before!

PS - if you finish watching the video, those elephants fed a lot of hungry people

Do you have proof that Namecheap CEO hunted elephants before? In all honesty Namecheap is a decent registrar and a dollar of your purchase goes to help elephants. Why should I stick with Godaddy and their $11.00 renewal fee again? or their charges to umm idk participate in auctions, park your domains, get whois privacy on your domains, forward your domains???? Good grief they have found a way to charge for things that in most places are free lol.

I never said that the namecheap CEO hunted an elephant before,

godaddy has been known to pull some shady stuff, but shit not giving them business cause the owner shot an elephant and fed hundreds of hungry people in a less fortunate country? move on..

I have never liked GoDaddy. It has nothing to do with them killing elephants or being the top dog. Good for them. I just dislike their setup.

I have over 100 of my domains at NameCheap. Overall, I have been very happy with them. 20% are .co, 10% are .info and the rest are .com's.

Never understood why people chose GD ever. No WhoIs privacy, ridiculous fees, and overpriced .com's. Namecheap has never failed me. No complaints.

I only choose Godaddy when they have the 1$ coupons, got 7 domains from them for only a buck each so I can't complain. Its kinda funny that Namecheap sent an e-mail like this tho lol

So the elephant is trampling the crops and this is the solution? Let some rich white guy shoot the animal?? Sounds like a excuse to me. If the farmer wanted them out of his field, he could have killed the elephant himself. If Parsons wanted to impress me, he would use his money to find a way to help the farmer that does not involve killing a species that has limited numbers and endangered habitat.

Its really sad to see people do stuff like this, and he even said in the HP that he was sorry for what he did. Hope he loses his bonus over this pr disaster!
