I don't know how useful this will be for you guys but I thought I'd let you know anyway. If you purchase any .com or "almost any other TLD"(according to them), you will get a free .org with it provided a .org is available. This is a limited time offer and you will be able to see the details after logging in to your Namecheap CP.

Thanks for letting me know about this TS. The downside is that the .org you get for free will be the same as the TLD you bought. So if you buy yellowdog.com, you'll get yellowdog.org free IF it's available.

i can never seem to get a dot com domain name for any keywords i am searching for. but i guess if someone finds a dot com then they get the dot org and eliminate possible future competition

Can we apply godady's 0.49$ .info domains trick on this one? Some one shared that and it was working perfect. I mean adding both .com and .org in cart than removing .com and getting .org for free. Is it possible?

It's always been like that at namecheap. The thing is it only happens every so often. The system chooses who to give what to. I got a domain name and they gave me the free .info of the same name and when I asked why it was explained to me that the system randomly picks who to give a free domain to and it's at random and you can't request what you want.

No you can't, Business models of Godaddy and Namecheap are completely different.

Without seeing this thread first, I just bought a KeywordX.com and got a free .org! Not an EMD but with only 1 extra letter, and the EMD's for that niche have no sites built on them, but are parked, I am smiling. I plan on building up both sites similar but with unique content on both and see which one gets ranked higher. Should be interesting! The keyword gets over 18,000 exact searches per month (14,000 US) and I'll monetize with Amazon.

I came on here to let you guys know about this great deal too but apparently you are all saying it's random. I wonder how they choose who gets a deal, or if it's completely random..
