Nameboy appraisals

I've found some top .coms and thought I'd have a go at having them appraised by the free service at Nameboy.


I chose four to check and for three of them I got an appraisal of 8+ thousand and the other one was for 3+ thousand.


Now, these are just keyed in .coms with no history so what to make of these appraisals?

I mean, they are top names that I was very surprised were not already taken and I know that these type of appraisals are a very rough guide but should I just totally ignore Nameboy's very generous appraisals or are these at least worth buying for the sole purpose to flip for maybe $100+ ?


Any suggestions?

Oh, I think I'm definitely going to buy them. They're really good names that I was surprised to see available and not already taken.

The thing is, I'm not experienced in flipping domains and to be honest I see domains being flipped on DP for next to nothing which is kind of a shame.


One completely shocking .com I found was a short slogan that has been used to promote tourism in a certain country that the government has spent a huge amount on. Huge billboards which have this slogan adorning them are all over the place and the .com is sitting there unclaimed.

The others are premium names to do with tourism and are very brandable.

I'm just not sure how to go about commanding top dollar for them or where to go to get good prices.

Yeah, I expected as much. It's a wildly inaccurate system that is basically worthless if you have a little common sense to begin with.

Also, I found a GREAT name that I am definitely getting and Nameboy appraised it at $19!

Estibot helps me alot in determining which domains should I get and flip
PremiumDomains.com tells you if your domain is premium, meaning at least $X,XXX value

Just note that even if the name is a slogan or is genetic, the mere fact it was dropped only meant it was not of good value. In my opinion theres now point of having a domain with a slogan since it will only make the name lengthy.

I usually stick to 2-3 dot com words only
Expired and genetic ones are great to keep

The other day I spotted an expired 5-letter domain which a name of a city in germany and can also be an acronym. Havent listed it yet, but will see

Adult ones are the easiest to sell so my eyes are also keen on these ones

The only good thing about nameboy is the little button you press to start the search... "Go nameboy GO!".. funny somehow

nameboy appraise it by 50 $
and it = more than 3 k
how is that?

Nameboy sucks, if I went by that for my appraisals i'd be able to sell my portfolio for enough to retire in the caymans. If you are going to use any kind of automated domain appraiser, use Estibot dot com, their metrics are far superior to Nameboy. In the end bots can only go so far, human analytics are almost essential.
