Myth or truth - adding rel=nofollow to sponsor links/galleries helps keep in pr juice?
rel=nofollow tells Google that you are linking to page to reference something on the page but you do not endorse it and Google should not spider that link.
That's not to say that you don't sell/endorse it but the bot doesn't know your intention.
Contrary to that, I've had a couple links nofollowed that Google spidered anyway but my best guess is maybe they got spidered before I nofollowed. If anybody has and idea on that it would good to share.
It wont harm your PR if you have a few follow links on your website.
It will harm your PR/authority if you have hundreds of ******** links on your website pages. Google thinks you are a linkfarm.
If you really have ALOT links consider to use nofollow on most of them.
Correct me if im wrong
It will prevent from too much PR spilling over from your site to theirs but it will still allow them to get indexed and even rank if they have enough nofollow links.
All links are good links.
great to know thanks guys!!
anyone know if there's a plugin for wordpress that will add rel=nofollow to all the links in posts in database/past/present?
Separate names with a comma.
