Ok so I'm sure pretty much everyone here have been thinking whatever it's good reason to save on domain extension as like everyone says that .infos can rank as good as .com's/net's

So I made a split test for 10domains, At first I wanted to save myself some $ and registered the domains with .info's ,made content for the sites and got them indexed - the results were ok.
But I realized if I wanted to sell the sites later on I would have better luck with .com's so About week ago I made the same 10sites with .com's /net's /org's instead - made again content for each of the site in the same way as I did for the first sites with infos and now seems that most of the sites have been indexed!

I now checked the ranking places which those domains got straight without any backlinks and to my suprise those .com's/net's /org's are ranking WAY Better then the infos were - and that's for EVERY of those sites not only 1 or 2!

I believe that .infos overtime can get ranked as good as coms with enough work but I can now say for sure that google penalizes .info's and don't rank them as good as the other domains So Next time you register the domain if you are planing to establish a site which will be your earner then just go and take the normal domain - that 7bucks for .com isn't that much!

I think it's best to do both. Test with the .info's, then when you see good potential, duplicate the winners to .com/.net

    uhm seriously why waste time?
There are no difference if you at first test with info and then with normal cos you need the content anways-so you just end up paying the same to develop it but you waste a lot of time and energy!

Sorry, not a valid test. Test should have been done the same time, not a week apart, but I still disagree with you. I've had info's constantly outstrip established .com's with relatively little seo done on them.

Maybe get 20 niche topics, research keywords, then divide the topics by half randomly (one half info other half com) and do the same seo for each topic.
That would be a test that could give a more exact result I think...

    Greetings!
    Sebastian

Hah yeah not a valid test

why has someone not purchased 5 Coms and 5 infos with the exact same names and content. Prstormed them at the same time then search for the domain - the extension? Wouldn't this answer the question?? Then we could stop seeing these threads all the time. If no-one steps up I'll do it in a few days, so over this argument
