MySpace Marketing still worth it?

Is myspace marketing still worth it?
I just saw a video and i am going to give it a go tomorrow.

What sort of products do you think i should promote?

I have some gambling PLR book i am thinking of promoting.

Would like to know if you guys think its worth it and the niche is good enough, or is there a better niche?

The best niches to be promoted on myspace are those related to entertainment, and I think gambling belongs to this category.
Additionaly gambling involves the hope of making money, and everyone want to make money right?
So I'd say gambling can be a good niche to promote on myspace.

Then for your other question, well whenever you hear people saying something is not worth it anymore, this very thing can be still working and making big bucks for some guys. I can only advise you to gove it a go and see what happens.

But beware : myspace is now considering mass promotion through bulletins and comments as spam. So you might need to behave differently.
Create a real person's (you) profile page and promote your product only on a part of it and in your blog, then use friend adding, bulletins, groups, forums and comments to promote your page.
Say something interesting and relevant, act like a real person so people will come and check out your page, see that you are a cool real guy, not just a marketer, and eventually they will see your product somewhere on your page or in your blog.

This way of marketing on myspace requires more time and work, but it is way more efficient in the long run : 1st you won't be banned, 2nd you will develop real contacts with some people and 3rd they will be more likely to buy your product if they feel like they know you as a real person, and therefore trust you.

Be aware if you spam alot, you can be sued..

There are over 50 cases pending right now. It looks like they are mostly going after affiliate networks so far. They have sued CPA*Empire and others. That's why most of the networks no longer permit any kind of Myspace marketing. It's still being done but you need to hide your traffic. I wouldn't suggest directly tossing an affiliate link onto a Myspace page.

at least there not going after the individual affiliates.

I made my first Clickbank-sales from Myspace. I had an ebook, can't find it, but remember some tips from it.
It was a poker-product, sold two of it in one night.

The most important tips were to first build some kind of contact with your "victims" before selling anything. Chat with them and comment their profiles.

Always make a girl-profile!

Use some Myspace auto-commeneter/poster (I used Badder Adder)

Aftert you have chatted with them for a while, mass-send everyone a message like this "Hey, did I promise to give you a discount of this product? *Your link, use some url shortener, but not Tinyurl*"

Or

"Hey, did you message me about this ebook? If you did, here is the link, if you didn't please delete this message and forget about it. *Your link*"

There were also some codes which you could insert your banner to the diary-page.

Myspace is contacting affiliates companies now. They are tracking url redirect with a http snooper to get your affiliate id. I have also heard they contact domains like godaddy. So i hear.

I have some poker PLR books and was thinking to try to make some money with them. I'll try to make a profile for someone that loves playing poker. I wont say stuff like "I play poker for a living get this book!". I'll just say stuff like "I play in my spare time and i learn some good tips with these book." and "I made some extra going out money in the last few days with this poker bot", without the old "check it out here" or Click here to see more" I'll just hyper link the text "poker bot"

I was contacted by a person by the name of Jason Wiley a few mnths back from Fox Interactiv.. he was rude as hell & actually was talking in a threatining matter like a dumb ass .. telling me He has my Social Security number and all this shit.. so i say bro I'm pretty sure doing anything or using my social security number is a federal offense.. so he says "I have proof you sent over 200,000 bulletins and each one is $50." So basically black mail type shit... there is no way i sent 200k bulletins on myspace... it's a FREE public website for me to do what i want with... I have logs of the emails but not the phone call... also this Chris Dewolfe fella got Sued by the City of new york for SPYWARE.. yeah these people are pretty much shady as shit...I'm callign LIFE LOCK if i'm ever contacted again..

Direct people to your blog from Myspace and push your service from there.


You just easily skipped getting in trouble with Myspace.

How do you think Myspace got so big they spammed every mailer server there is hotmail,aol remember the little inviter script the set it up to spam your contact list in your email. The line they use is "See which of your friend are online" which really is give us all your contacts so we can send them emails to market our website. I call it reverse email spam. I still cant believe hotmail and aol put up with it.

Coming from experience I would say you are better off focusing your attention somewhere else besides myspace. If you were in the myspace game in 2007 - early 2008 you were in the "goldrush" period.

Nowadays MySpace has so many filters in place and extremely good IP logging/banning it's almost impossible to make decent coin.

Now don't get me wrong, but I am sure there is some tactics that will pull some coin, but they are no longer along the lines of Messaging, Friend Adding, Commenting, Etc...

Of course they participated in traditional viral marketing to expand the exposure of myspace... It's all good and also curtosey of myspace anybody spammming their website. This was all another way to deliver ads other then email marketing... If i was i nthe same position of course i would feel pissed and violated when outsiders come and spam the website.. BUT.. i'm pretty sure my comission to date is Ruperts fucking jet fuel bill.. pretty much. SHIT.. He's not like that though, If i was put in the same position i would also take the fact under consideration that we are all still struggeling internet marketers. knowing that we are already being told how to and not to market.... I think actually if they told anybody who had any say so they would basically say you know it's up to them to secure the website (like hi5 which simply tells you , that you have exceeded comments. and would probably make them mad at MS if they saw this because they KNOW it's up to them to secure it and are obviously not american)...It's always been curtosey of myspace, tom & chris... i look at it as if we moved with them and another way to deliver ad's. my 2 cents.

old methods (brute force/numbers) are very risky, and saturated. Niche it up and focus on building a rapport. I've heard of people doing this (networking legit) and making 500-1k a day by actual offering worthwhile content and discussion.

I've heard about myspace suing over messages, and maybe bulletins and comments, but so far I have never heard them suing someone over friend requests. Has anyone heard any different? I was going to create a shitload of profiles and then only send out 5 friend requests a day per profile. If I create 1000 profiles for this do you guys think I'll be in trouble? lol.... craziness.
