My YouTube Journey - Targeting $10 a day - Full Report
Hello Friends,
Introduction:
My name is Uttoran Sen, am a digital marketer since 2003. I started blogging way back in 2002 on free hosting platforms which were then available to us, for example: yahoo geocities, public social profiles on platforms like Hi5 etc. and blogger which later became blogspot. Recently, I had made an introduction thread on this forum as well. I wonder why I somehow missed this forum - was active everywhere on the internet back then.
Back then, my main sources of income were Niche sites and adsense. Made some money from Link selling, paid web directories and affiliate markeiting. Discovered the profitable niche ideas early and started to pick up long tail keywords which I used in writing articles.
Soon I was writing content 24/7. From a bunch of niche sites, I had a whole portfolio of micro and small niche sites. Some of my general all purpose content sites were ranking as well. I even started to sell content as a free lancer and made additional income.
In later years I started more freelance work like selling links and doing SEO. Soon I was working for a lot of companies, some of which were new and it was like working from scratch. I ranked them, and they got sales. They grew and became huge companies and decided to remove me and rather hire marketing teams which will take them to the next level.
While marketing for them I built them huge media backlinks, got them mentioned from sites like Forbes, Enterpreneur, NyTimes, Huffingtonpost, WallStreat Journal etc. But in return, other than what I got paid, I got nothing else and once I was out of work, I was pretty much back to nothing and was mostly re-building my niche sites.
I wanted something real - Not researching ten types of food to eat, or gift ideas for fathers day... I want real content. I wanted to do something in the real world and document it online.
So, after much thinking and planning, I decided to get into agriculture. The plan was to build a farm house, this won't be like a homestead - that won't be practicle with my wife trying to complete her collage and my daughter in her school. I needed an agricultural land which will be a few kilometers away from my home so that I can go there during the day and return by night. In 2022 end, in December, I found a space just like that - and Shri Organics was born.
This piece of land - my future farm house, was just 20 Kms away from my home and I can easily reach it within an hour. I took the space in rent and paid the money instantly but the space as already occupied by other people who took about 6 months to leave. However, they weren't occupying the whole space, so I started working with whatever space was available. In April 2023, the other farmers left and the whole space was available to me. My idea was to make VermiCompost - a higher quality organic manure - which is made from CowDung and Earthworms.
Since then, till this day - am working hard and facing plenty of challanges in making vermi compost. I want to document everything - hence YouTube!
Now, here is the thing. I wish to document everything that I do on the farm. Earlier I used upload everything from the farm to my primary YouTube channel which was on my name: YouTube / @ UttoranSen - but this channel has all sorts of content and isn't focused on anything specific. I even re-directed the new domain - ShriOrganics.com to this YouTube channel.
However, Last month, I made a new channel: YouTube / @ ShriOrganics - this is a focused channel and the content will specifically be focused on farming, our farmhouse, vermicompost, raising livestocks like chickens etc.
The Channel: @ShriOrganics - is new. Here's the current stats: 29th August, 2024
10 subscribers (For going live - we need 50 subs. )
27 videos (Mostly Shorts)
Targets:
1 to 4 Short videos every day.
Challanges: Lack of funds for a new internet connection in the farm house. Slow mobile uploads.
1 - Daily Blog - full video that documents everything that we do in the farm house.
Challenges: Lack of time. Am really tired when I return home at night and mostly fall asleep. Getting the video ready is quite a time consuming work and in the night time when I return from the farm, I feel like sleeping.
Growing the channel - YouTube marketing requires some collabs, live sessions and other marketing efforts. Will focus on all these things now.
Finally, as the thread title says: Need to earn atleast $10 a day from this channel. This is the challenge for this thread and need to really get some funds coming in - else it will be very difficult to pursue this work.
Stay tuned - will post the numbers, will share the screenshots - it will be fun. Will document everything.
