    Hey guys hope you are all in good health, let me just cut straight to the chase.. been unemployed for around two months now and have my youtube gaming channel youtube/xcobrahazex

    AN EXAMPLE OF ONE OF MY VIDEOS:

    I've had it for around 3 years I think and used it on and off, recently I have been uploading a lot (I only upload KEM Strikes, Nuclears, Moabs) so no noob or boring stuff with commentaries, anyways I dreamed I could make money off my gaming channel but views are just not happening.. should I just forget the dream because my mums getting pissed at me wasting my time in front of my console all day and I am not making any money..

    I want to hear your opinions.. I love hearing peoples opinions and I love giving and receiving advice.. so "come at me bro".. am I retarded to believe I can make a full time passive living off this stuff?... and if I could it would prob take forever right?.. I have a twitter and FB page with my youtube account too.. but I believe the youtube gaming community is mental over saturated... if the majority say screw it I will defo just move on with life and commit my time to whitehate IM..

    cheers guys,

    UltimateKhan

    Never give up your dreams. The people who keep trying even when they have set backs and fail are the ones who will succeed. I know it's bit of a cliche but its true. Don't let anybody tell you you can't do it. Prove them all wrong!

    Bro I completely agree with what your saying.. but at the moment I am unemployed & if pro's who have made it on youtube or know a lot about the gaming area of youtube tell me It will take this long or this much investment.. then I would rather hear it now than spend another couple of months on this and then fail hard and not have of made even a penny, I agree completely with what you mean but sometimes we have to be realistic..

    It is possible to make a living from YouTube, just not so easily from gaming since that niche is incredibly saturated. Perhaps you should try another niche like vlogs, tutorials etc, and monetize using adsense, or just start doing IM with things like affiliate marketing, CPA offers, PPD etc. etc.

    My current bank balance on my Lloyds bank card is £0.50 & on my HSBC card £4.20

    I remember using tubetoolbox like the free part of it I think.. did not really see much benefit from it, ultimately does anybody think with how saturated the gaming commentary market is that there really is any point in trying to break into it?.. I don't have the environment to make really funny or comical videos like Pewdiepie or KSI.. mainly because my parents are home 24/7 and if they see me acting like that they would just be like wtf and it would be akward... :|

    I watched your video without a sound. I am bored to death. Gaming videos should be interesting without sound, your video suck and i would never watch it. have you see the videos people like? They are packed with action

    OP, I think it is time you got a Job in the real world.

    Do it for 6 to 12 Months, then you will see the reality of the working man.

    After 12 months come back here and learn something.

    You are just looking for an excuse to play games all day.

    Also OP, many people who joined BHW at the same time as you are banking ... time to focus.

    Yeah it was mainly because it was a "tutorial" but fair enough man if it sucked to you then I kinda see why I don't get views lol, thanks for the feedback.

    He was saying that the video had no action. It doesn't hold the viewers attention.

    Too many COD players on YT looking to become the next PewDiePie. Sorry...
    Want to make some money? Find a game that is not that popular, see how's the competition on YT (e.g. is there any large channel dominating the niche), see if you like the game, etc. Become an authority!

    Btw, record yourself while playing and also show your face. People need to associate your channel with something. In other words, look at a really popular COD channel, find a less saturated game and replicate.

    Make better thumbnails. Your existing ones dont tell us what the videos are about. Plus instead of coming to a blackhat forum, go to a gaming forum and ask for help and ideas.

    @Oscilay
    Cheers yeah that makes sense.. I will take that on board if I continue with this niche.

    @Indebt
    I made all of my thumbnails with my logo mainly because I was worried about copyright infringement issues (especially in the future if I was to gain a huge following and go down the adsense route), I have posted similar stuff on gaming forums but people really don't take well to people profiting off posting gaming stuff.. thanks for the feedback though.

    Why not work part-time at some job while maintaining your YouTube channel? Let's be honest, even if you made a full-time living off of YouTube it's not full-time work.

    Play a few hours a day, spend another few hours editing. Maintain a routine or schedule. To be honest though, gaming channels are hard. It's very competitive and saturated especially with a game like Call of Duty.

    I'm not saying you won't be successful at it, especially if you're consistent and use all the tools here on this forum, but you need to differentiate yourself just a tad.

    Here's a suggestion, record your face while playing. Just look at the most successful gaming channels on Twitch or YouTube. Streamers or YouTubers with facecams are much more successful. It's just more fun to watch and see the person's expression.

    Differentiate in other ways too if you can, you need to be creative. Do what other COD channels ARENT doing. Up the production and editing in your videos as much as you can. Play more obscure or indie games. Play newest releases and use words like "walkthrough" "gameplay" in the title. Play Steam games that go on sale (people often search for them to see what the games about when they go on sale). Play games people would rather WATCH than play like games with amazing story lines, games that are mostly cinematic or point-click style adventure games.

    Oh, and 22 is young. You're still in the prime of your life. I had no idea what I wanted to do when I was 22. You'll be fine, just keep grinding. Make both sides happy. Get a part-time to keep your parents quiet and keep working on your YT channel to keep yourself happy.

I was doing this gaming stuff whilst I had a job too.. I am just struggling to find work at the moment.. applying for tons of jobs but not getting replies, anyways your spot on man just like Tommy lawrence.. uniqueness is the key and I'll take everything you said on board I reallllllyy appreciate your feedback man thanks so much. :)
