    Hey there,
    Thanks for coming in here.

The problem that I have is that my windows is not genuine. I have a Windows 7 Ultimate and it rocks. The only problem that I am facing is that the popup just kills the fun of Win7.

    No wallpapers.........:-(

I've heard that there are ways by which the popups will go away and the windows will be registered. I just am not really tech savvy so I am unable to find a solution. I can reformat the disk but I have a lot of data that I do not want to lose.

    Please help me guys

Worked a charm for me the other day. I'm on Win 7 Ultimate. Even passes the WGA ;)

Just make sure you search your comp for this update "KB971033"

and turn off Automatic updates, and never install the above update.

When you activate windows update. Choose the manual option, so you can pick and choose which updates you want.

When you look through the list the WINDOWS updates are labeled "KBxxxxxx".

If you see one labeled "KB971033" Uncheck it. the others are fine.

The "KB971033" update blocks the WGA crack....

    Hope that helps.

Not easily, you'd have to dig through the registry, and remove all entries.

The problem is, MS encodes all they're entries as a string of numbers.

Easiest way would be to clean install, and reapply patch.

Simply uninstalling the update after it has already hit you won't help. However, I have found a solution that should work. Found myself in that same exact situation less than a week ago. This worked a charm.
