Try using wp theme not from cyberchimps, there are plenty better free ones, that will load much faster.

yes, try changing the theme to a lighter time. How many sites have you hosted under the same username?

Signup up for a free account at Cloudflare and enable all the options for optimization and it will start to zip along (they also cover DDoS protection for free)

2 reasons > if your website is heavy, you may need a good internet connection for it to load up fast ,
if your website isn't heavy and its still taking a lot of time then contact your hosting or better switch :)

Have lighter theme, maybe your server is crappy so check that, check your own internet connection, dont use too complex codes on your site, maybe browser is taking time....

Looks like the images and java script are heavy on your site. They both account for more than 500 KB. Try to optimize them.

Enable caching, Enable gzip transmission and try to reduce the usage of huge images.

Run it through gtmetrix and look at the timeline tab. Should give you a good idea of what is causing the problem.

Gzip compression is good, but I dont think the size is big enough to worry about.

Is it your internet connection? Check that first.

Or your website itself? Start taking out things that may make it slow to load. Like HUGE images that you can crop. Use the recommended tools as listed above by the BHW members.

A way that I increased the load time of my blog is by minimizing the amount of pictures that pre-load, but rather give the option to users to "Show more posts".

    Hope that helps.

    Slow loading of your wordpress site could be as a result of multiple things;
Bulky Word press theme - What is the size of your theme?
Many scripts running at the same time - Just use scripts with light coding and that you really need
Having alot of heavy image files, videos etc. - Use image converters or P.shop to scale down and reduce the image sizes
Alot of Ads - Have you ever noticed why adult sites take up so much space?
Internet connection - Check from your end
    Ftp Issues - confirm

Check to see if one or more of the above are what is causing the problem.

    Super Simple!
Get the W3 Total Cache from Wordpress and Install CloudFlare! It WILL definitely speed it up. If not get cloud hosting.
