I am making this thread to keep myself motivated and communicate with others about shorts and YouTube!

My story
After finding this video:
I really wanted to make my first income from the commentary shorts channel. (So you basically pick a niche, download others videos from different platforms (TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, etc) and then you edit that and put your commentary over it, so you can actually monetize the content)

So Jan 1 I started this journey by creating a freshly new account and started posting every single video I found on TikTok without picking a niche and of course, miserably I failed! After posting about 50 videos, only 2 videos have "blown up" (2k and 9k) Others had 0-3 views. After this I created 2 other accounts, now with different niches.

After posting on all 3 channels I still didn't see any results, mostly all of the videos were plain zeros and after that I quit, for 2 weeks straight I wasn't posting anything. 26th of February I saw this forum for the first time and read @SEGARU thread about the same journey, but he actually succeeded! After this, splash of motivation, I decided to continue grinding! I started posting about 1-2 shorts every single day, my first channel didn't really respond to it, but starting March 5 I finally got my first viral videos:

Yeah, I still have some low-view videos, but I didn't care, finally, I am making some progress! (For now, max video view count is 31k)

My other 2 channels have also started to get traction, but still, I had low-view videos, sometimes even 4-6 in a row.
Right now my second channel has the most subscribers (280~) and this is what the last days of videos looks like:

Pretty cool, huh? Still low count views, but slowly I am getting my audience. After changing the niche to a more precise one I started to notice that YouTube Algorithm started to push my videos further.

The third channel isn't that cool (Mostly because in this channel niche is hard to find content):

After reading Sergau's thread responses I saw that if you already had an active account in the past, you can use it and it will be more appealing for YouTube. So 2 days ago I started my 4th channel. It has 1.9k subscribers and was inactive for about 2 years, the main problem is that it has mainly an Ukrainian audience (I am making all of my shorts content for English-speaking countries) and was for a very different niche, also I applied to a monetization program several times in the past, but because I was young and stupid it was declined 3 times! After posting my first video... It actually did great, only 500 views, but still, it is way better than the other 3 channels that I've been grinding on. Here is it now:

So yeah, this is what I wanted to tell you guys! Now I will be updating this thread to keep me motivated and share my experience with you! If you have any questions or just want be inspired, you are welcome to reply!

I will continue posting 2 videos a day on 4 channels every single day. The Main goal is to get monetized!

Socialblade is completely incorrect most of the time. It will show the highest and lowest you could potentially earn, based on a purely mathematical approach. It’s not even remotely close to what I earn on my channel (in my case, I earn way lower than what’s shown, I could only dream what it shows).

Revenue is so dependent on many factors that Socialblade has no access to, it would be maddening to base yourself off that platform.

I earn literal pennies from Shorts, as so far none has gone through. In fact, I feel like I crippled my channel by having tried Shorts, as my longform content is now no longer working since I started it. I’m on the verge of stopping Shorts altogether.

Very interesting journey, keep us updated on the progress!

I know about social blade incorrectness, but Segaru already shared the revenue and it is still very impressive

For real I don’t get it. YouTube tested my one short. It got 10k views and pretty good statistics but other shorts YouTube don’t recommend. Even when my tested short did pretty good.

Even big channels have this problem, very rarely YouTube will push all of your videos, look at this inconsistent view count:

Right but YouTube recommend only one from 10 shorts. And I mean he don’t recommend like 0 reach.
I think the bigger channel grows, the more YouTube will trust you, also this big channel already has 2mil+ subscribers of course he won’t get complete zeros

All videos from my 4th channel are getting views! For now, no videos with zeros. I think, the old account is making it’s magic.

Maybe try to make better content?
Maybe your english is bad?
How many seconds people watch your videos?

Maybe they scroll away.
Youtube algo is seeing that people are not very interested and stops showing videos to others.

Maybe its a 1 time thing.
1 new channel, if first videos are top 10 quality then YT promotes it. If first few videos are semi good or worse then it shows a bit of acitvity and then drops the channel for good.
Like shadowban or whatever.

1 - I and some other people who I show my channels, thinking I have great content, might be better than my competitors.
2 - I am using Elevenlabs as an AI voice for my videos, so the quality of English is kinda great. (But still, I think, using your own voice is better)
3 - Average is 20 seconds (25 seconds is the length of most of my videos)

I don’t think, that is the case, after posting low-quality content on all of my channels, like 20-25 videos in a row, the channels are now doing great, because the quality is now better.

So I don't think Youtube algorithm is that bad, just find the right niche and start producing the right content.
