Yo dudes,

I recently threw down my resignation letter and set out to start my own video marketing company with a fellow filmmaker. We have just completed our first ad (for a tool company) and it's now out in the world. Would love some you guys feedback considering you're in the world of online marketing. We are trying to do viral, fun videos that encompass clients brand and actually want to be watched.

I can't post links yet because of the spam filter, so if you can find the time to copy and paste it would be appreciated.

I'll be honest with you, I was initially expecting some Windows Movie Maker titles with images scraped off of Google Images, but your ad certainly has some impressive quality!

This is unrelated to your video, but I should warn you that circumventing the spam filter on Black Hat World could get you into trouble, so try to avoid doing it in the future (you'll be able to post links after getting 50 posts and spending 30 days on the forum). :)

Cheers! No WMM in this one, slightly more advanced programs haha

Oh sorry I thought it was there to stop spam. Was just so happy to get this ad out, was dying to get some critisms and feedback before we crack on with our next one. Won't do it again!

very good job, you seem like a talented team If i'm in your shoes I'll spin it a little bit and cold call every potential company showing them the video as a demo

No worries. Anyway, I really didn't have any criticisms to make about the video: the subtle sound effects are appropriate, the camera angles are great, the actors had real expressions on their face, etcetera. I suppose the video is a bit too long, but if the target demographic prefers longer videos, then this is irrelevant.

Out of curiosity, which program(s) did you use to produce the video? While I no longer create videos (apart from an annual animation in Adobe Flash Professional), I used to use Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and After Effects CS3.

Yeah I get the length is nearing a minute, should be 30, just didn't want to cut out any of the scenes haha. I think I'll do another edit and see what the client thinks. It was all done in those programs, such powerful pieces of software even if they are buggy as hell still.

aceprogrammer, once the website is up we're gonna be hitting the phones hard. Hopefully it shouldn't be too hard.

Sure, just send it over.

Edit: Managed to find it Cnotey, was messing up the embed on my iPad.

Very well put together and an good flow of facts and information! I would say be careful with that music, if I'm not wrong that is from batman haha.

I like it a lot, I just thought the fast-forwarded speak threw it off slightly, I don't know - maybe you don't need that? Maybe you don't need no sound at all? Anyhow, great work and I am sure you can grab a lot of customers when showing that video as a demo.

Good job!

You should hire someone to do a Darth Vader voice over starting at the second slide, especially since Star Wars is trending on social media right now.
:joke:

great video, love the ending with him all tooled up like something from a horror slasher flick, hate to walk round the corner and see him standing there, any great stuff OP

When I click your sig my antivirus blocks the URL, it says it is malicious or something

Very strange?! I had it set to go to my website, maybe i'll just forward it to the sales thread here on BHW.

Sure, just send it over.

The music is from Inception and I am paying for royalties! Thanks for the advice though.

Anything else? I love criticism!

Cheers! Yeah I can see the comic speech being self indulgent. Yeah hopefully it'll help us get more work!

Also cheers guys for all the nice words. Going self-employed is amazing and terrifying, so it's nice to know I'm on the right track!
