Alright folks, this is quite a unique method that can make you happy in terms of financially OR emotionally. It's going to be either way

Now let me explain. Personally, I like to watch tennis and I know alot knowledge about the tennis players and matches etc. The most common ones are Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Juan Martin Del Potro etc. and even more

Every matches they play, there is always a sport betting for the odds of winning the match, sets, games etc. For example, I love Roger Federer and he was playing a match in Halle against Tommy Haas in the final last week and Roger was the heavy favourite to win the title and as a result, he lost. The betting for straight sets win was $1.59 while Haa's $8.75 straight sets win against Federer (which is unlikely according to their head to head record). I placed on a bet on Haas for $25 straight sets win and I was prepared I would lose anyways. But in the end, Federer lost and as a result, financially, I won $218.75.

Now here's the thing. Had Federer won, sure, I would lose $25 betting but physologically & emotionally, I felt happy for my idol and I would treat as though if I paid $25 for an admission enterance fee or something. But if he had lost the match, sure, I felt sad emotionally BUT on the other hand, I won a bit of money here, so to me, it's like a comfort or a bonus!

So basically, you place on a bet that is dark horse with high payout and UNLIKELY to win while physcologically, you want your idol to win and that way, if either one you lose, you won't feel disappointed totally as there is a balance spirtually if you see what I am saying here.

The idea doesn't have to be tennis, it can be in any sports! But it would work if one of your idol (that you want the player or team to win) is the heavy favourite while the other opponent is a dark horse with high payout odds.

Hope that helps!

Nice emotional method :) hahaha

It wouldn't work for me since money makes me happy, financialy and emotionaly, so where do I put my bet?!

Anyways I would not name this a way of making money, gambling is never making any money unless you are running the bettings or if you have a player who can lose the game to make you money ;-)

Having been an avid football (soccer) fan for all of my life, I would NEVER EVER bet against my own team. It is just not what a real fan would do...

I should say, what a piece of @$#$@, but ok, I say "I'm happy that it makes you happy, bro.". And I move on.

D.

Kinda funny. Simply said - try earn money in betting :D

sorry m8... wrong forum, wrong thread, wrong category, wrong everything...

coming soon threads: about how to make money with a 9to5 job...

The only thing I would say is that it puts a value on your sports allegiance, individual or team, so if you bet x amount of money against your favourite, that's what would offset their loss, and therefore the value of your allegiance.

I can't help but feel a sense of 'Kumbaya' when I read this. I was waiting for the part where you would make your $25 back in spite of losing. While this may make you feel good I think the goal for most people here is to discuss methods on how to make money and not necessarily how to feel 'ok' psychology if they lose money. While I'll commend you on your method of dealing with the loss of money in a manner that doesn't affect you as much as it would flushing it down the toilet I don't think you'll get the sympathy and positive feedback that you may have hoped for in posting this.

I'll give you a chance to redeem the confidence of the users here:

Every matches they play, there is always a sport betting for the odds of winning the match, sets, games etc.

Where are these odds? Are there multiple sources with different opinions? I think it would be more interesting to scrape these numbers from multiple sources in which an equation would spit out a number on the chances of either player winning. While that's not what happened with respect to your specific example I would place or gamble my wager on intelligent information gathering rather then how I feel - because as someone else mentioned previously in this thread, and I strongly concur, money makes me happy.

You're kind of kidding yourself. It would be better if the lost money actually went to support the TV station or tennis player. Be careful of becoming comfortable with losing money. That's a good way to lose a LOT.

Interesting but it doesn't really work here, mainly because it's betting and this is an IM site and then people here are more like low lives that are hungry for money, meaning there aren't much emotions involved here. But if that makes you happy and satisfied with your life then go on, just don't try to seduce people into your psychic thinking.

i like the physcological factor ;) but if i do that my bank account will be soon reach to 0 :D

I really don't want be an ass, but this doesn't belong on BHW.

On a side note: Federer is my favourite too!

LOL!

What if Haas would have won 2-1?
You would have lost twice! Your idol and your bet! :D

I want to see your face when its drawn match (:
...financially AND emotionally f*****

seriously...expected at least a betting system based on high/low odds to be honest. But now grab your 200 bucks and invest into something more predictable
