OK, so ive been testing with a lot of my twitter accounts making tweets containing a link and #hashtag.

    Here's what i noticed...
When I tweet with a #hashtag - the tweet shows up in the public search when i search for the #hashtag
    However-
When I tweet with a #hashtag and www.link.com - the tweet DOES NOT SHOW in the public search when i search for the #hashtag

I have been trying to figure out a reason why this happens or how I can get around this problem. Does anyone have a solution to this roadblock? You can PM me as well. Any help will receive +rep and thanks

Could be based on how credible of a site you're linking to. Just a thought.

Let me know if you test it further.

I am also very much interested in this. Did you get a PM from anyone?

I have tried creating my accounts to look very real. They don't just tweet hashtags and links. They also tweet random content with no link that was written by human beings (not being spun). I don't get it. I see other obviously spam accounts that aren't following anyone and aren't being followed, with less than 20 tweets (all with links and trending topic hashtags) and those are getting found!!! And they aren't even spacing out their tweets! These tweets are getting posted once every 12 seconds! WTF? Why aren't mine showing up? Does anyone know the answer to this?

They are "ghosting" tweets with links, specially when you are posting trending hashtags or to current trending timeline.
If you send same tweet but without link, it will go to timeline.
If you were very spammy with same link or links to same domain, your domain is banned and even when sometimes your link pass through their filters it will pop up message (when somebody click on link) that your website have spammy or unsafe content.

You may be able to go around it in retweeting it a lot.

    Cheers Juice ;)

What do you mean "ghosting"? I noticed that they are sending the bitly links to a php script and the description coming up on bitly and on twitter are something that's not even close to what's on the actual site. I think it is just a simple redirect that they change after bitly has the summary cached. Is that how they do this?

That's sorta what I was thinking because it's the only thing I can think of, but even if I tweet an account using a trending topic keyword with no link it still doesn't get found. But maybe that's because it's with the same accounts that tweeted spammy links in the past. I just need to test more.

The other thought i had is that maybe i need people to tweet at my profiles, so I created more accounts just for that purpose. That could be something else these other visable accounts have happening in the background that i don't see - other profiles tweeting at them...

If you are the only one to post with the hashtag and don't have an authority account then you will have hard time finding it. But if you can get some people retweeting the tweet or using the same hashtags in their tweets then it would help you and more tweets would show up in the search for the hashtag. I have been into twitter marketing for more than 3 years now and would love to help.
Let me know if you have any more questions regarding Twitter.

I remember along time ago Twitter wouldn't show unverified accounts in the search if it contained a hashtag or url.

It does that sometimes, if you want it to show, either wait, or if some1 rts it`ll show right away.

Wow, that's some really good information there. Most of it is over my head, however. I have a script to redirect a link, but I don't think that's what i need. I need something that makes it actually look like it's another link, like with the meta data or a summary of a site that it's not actually going to.

Is there something else that I would use for this purpose? Do you have a script I could use, by chance?

Here is an example of what I'm talking about: If you go to username ShilohBz95C This is clearly a spam account. Now, the script they are using sends the person to a different page every time you click on their links.

This is the summary you see on twitter, but it actually goes to a porn site or affiliate stuff:
U.S lawmakers rally for blah blah blah...

That's what I was thinking, but how can these tweets show up in the trending search only 10 seconds after they are tweeted? They are all being retweeted pretty much instantly?

Yes I know what you mean. Actually I know exactly what script he is using and what script is using to make money :) but since this is public forum and you can't know who is looking posts, I will say - wow, this guy is a spammer, who would tell

About the script is not that hard to make a random redirection php script... if you check his bitly links and add a + at the end... as bit.ly/xxxxx+ you will see his/her domains and the /news.php ending.. he's just sending traffic to several sites, whati don't know is how it's monetizing that. But pretty simple to make a php random redirect script.

But more in the OP spirit i am recently experimenting this ghosting of my tweets, i have a 30K+ followers account which was very popular at a trending topic hashtag and that even has a great klout score, and over 50K+ retweets over the last 90 days. It was growing in followers at a rate of 200 or more per day, and i was in the top search results for all the hashtag i used (one per day) but from a couple of weeks ago i noticed that the followers gaining rate slowed down, and i realized my tweets didn't appeared anymore in the search results for the mentioned hashtags. So i'm pretty sure im ghosted now, what i want to know is if there's any solution to this or it's irreversible? also, how can i know if my domain is banned?
