    hey guys,
my newest idea was a tool (that I've already scripted partly // or service) which searches for (micro) niches and scans for the top ranks and finds out whether the previoulsy established niche blogs from competitors is easily outrankable or not...

that means: you open the tool, click on scan, it will do his thing and search for some niches and look for those whose rank #1 in google are outrankable and then give you the information to it...

sorry if i sound a bit off road i've just sleept 4 hours today...

would that be great? what you think?

So it would search out niches on its own or would you provide it the keywords?

Would be better if you could run it serverside, as a program like that will generally take ages to come up with a decent list. Also being able to give it requirements for what it will return would be nice as well.

Yes, kind of like TermsB stated, there are a few desktop software like this. If you want something unique, you'd have to run like a membership site server-based. Not sure how well that'd work out as if your site does turn big, you'd need some huge servers.

    Thanks!

My advice is to keep it for yourself and use the niches it generates for yourself or sell the niches themselves.

No point in adding another tool to the market to let marketers step on each others toes some more.

    why do you think so?

i coded a macro in one day that does what the tool in op is going to do and it has generated me more niches then i can work with, totally overwhelmed after just one day of letting it run.

How will you determine if something is 'outrankable'?

With hundreds of links, most pages are 'outrankable'.

All I did was scrape the backlink data for every website ranking #1 for the keyword I'm searching for. Then I would manually sift through the data afterwards and see which ones I wanted to go after. I found a lot of niches with the top site ranking with 10 or less backlinks many times.
