I may live to regret this but I am going to make this a tell all about myself. I have read many threads and guides but for some reason my mind is not wrapping around many of the principles involved in making money online.

With that admission one of the biggest critiques I see from VIP members is that the newbies are too general nor do they give enough info about themselves. I am going to be brutally honest on this board in hopes that someone can help me focus and give me some really good ideas on how I can start earning some revenue online, here goes nothing.

    Weaknesses-
Limited to no coding experience and alot of the technical jargon is lost on me. I can pick up on things but generally I have to see it in action. Again I cannot write nor modify code without being held by the hand.

Time is an issue, I work a night job that is over an hour from my home. I can however devote 3-4 per day before work and then more on the weekends.

Money is an issue that is why I am working a night job over an hour away from home. I cannot afford to spend much if ANY money even though I have spent some on this very site promoting a website I have.

    Strengths-
Management, once I get things going I am good at managing people and things.
Active, if I find niche I am interested in I can be very active on boards and forums.
Experience, I have several years of experience in certain fields and niches which I will list below.

Bio- Worked with my family in our restaurant, that is what I am doing now just to get by. But I have managed other national chains and done very well for them. I understand all aspects of the biz including food cost/labor/profit and loss statements etc..

I went to the retail sector in the cellular phone field. Again did very well with leading and pushing the team to success and maintained some of the best metrics in the country let alone the state.

I then went on and became a district manager for a gold buying company. Again I did well but not well enough, the business model sucked and due to this I was not able to make every store profitable even though I helped double volume in a years time. I was asked to take a pay cut or be fired and I was fired... :( since then they have closed 4 stores and 4 remain. Anyway that is why I am where I am today.

Other interests- Mixed Martial Arts, I am a high ranking member(not a mod) in a popular MMA forum, been on the site for more than 10 years and when I post I get a bunch of views. In addition I am pretty much considered an "authority" in wrestling which brings me to my next interest.

High School Wrestling- I have been involved in and around HS wrestling for 10+ years, I have even assisted in coaching at the HS I went to and my son currently is a wrestler in his HS. I am certified as a coach with USA wrestling through a distance learning and certification program they offer.

Swinging Lifestyle- I debated whether or not to mention this but I felt I could monetize this somehow but obviously this is the most difficult thing for me to admit on a public forum and I hope it does not bite me in the ass.
I have been a swinger for 14 years both as a single male and as a married couple. I have a bunch of friends in the LS and even belong to several "secret groups" on facebook each with around 300 members that share this past time. They are highly targeted like "City Name party group". I am sure there are bigger groups but they are not as targeted to local people.

I have an apparel and novelty website with no traffic.. :( I have tried to push the right keywords targeting some lesser known phrases as well as more popular ones but still nothing.

I do have actual accounts with several clubwear vendors as well as fulfillment partners that are legit and I can buy wholesale in the US.

I know this is a long read but I wanted to be as honest as possible so anyone willing to help can and will. I know there are some opportunites up there somewhere but I need focus and direction on how to accomplish my goal which is being able to support my family through online methods.

Any help or advice is appreciated!

you have to design yourself bro, and what i mean by that is this...saying "hey this is where i am, and this is where im trying to go" and design a plan to get to that destination.

    Well,

From what I have read, it seems you can write.

If making some money is that vital, why not write articles and build up funds which you can pump back into your online ventures?

If your not making any money currently and still online 3-4 hours a day then make the most and build up a " IM career fund ".

I guarantee within a month you'll have enough in the pot to invest in some tools and test out some methods.

    GL!

    some thoughts:

    - we (as a society in general) seam to have a belief that we have to fix our weaknesses. I personally think most of us (myself included) would be better off working on making our strengths as best as possible, making what we do "good" into "great" instead of trying so hard to fix perceived weaknesses. It's easy to train a racehorse to race, and a workhorse to work, but no matter how much energy you put into it, you'll never make a good racehorse out of a workhorse, or a good workhorse out of a racehorse.
    - if you ran a team of cell phone sales people, and then did gold buying (but the business model sucked) then I'd suggest considering going back to cell phone sales (or mma / martial arts sales maybe?). Good sales people are hard to find. Good sales managers are harder to find. That can be a very lucrative business if you're good at it, and can help you reestablish your current financial position as well as cash flow for side projects.
    - In the IM world I personally think that there is no "easy quick money" - there is easy money - but it takes time to figure out how to make it, and there is quick money, but it isn't easy (and it also takes a lot of time to figure out how to find it). Having a consistent cash flow that you can dump into IM while you learn it makes it much easier to work with the ups and downs, and over time lets you build up cash flow instead of feeling like "you need" to make profit ASAP. The best way to figure out IM is by making mistakes, and that, unfortunately, involves a bit of a bankroll to start.

Just my 2 cents from personal experience.

Keep it up. You've already gone farther than 99% of the people who start into this business.

Just a suggestion from little o'l me. It seems that you have plenty of restaurant experience, including major management. I would write about that, give out some more in depth information in the form of a free pamphlet, which directs those serious in being a restaurant owner/manager to buy your "how to start your own restaurant from scratch" media package.

BTW, you also have a Google Voice number that serves as a paid consulting contact.

If you do, indeed have extensive skills in anything NON Internet Marketing, then you can sell them.

The Internet is just a tool, your other experience is your product. Other people are looking to start a business of their own right now.

Did you know, that the restaurant industry has one of the highest failure rate of any industry. This is a great thing..

Why, because not only does this truthful fact lead you into why having a competent plan and advisory support is important and a contributing factor to ALL in the winning 1%..

But you will never hit saturation ;)

Great thoughts guys! Just so you guys know I am currently seeking opportunities in both the retail and food-service side. I am not making excuses here as I am trying everyday but I think Florida has the highest unemployment rate of any state, if not it is pretty close.

I will continue to seek a "real job" but a couple of thoughts on this post intrigued me.

    A) Article writing for money, I will promptly search some article writing opportunities but I am sure there are some that already have a lead on some sites/services that are better or more lucrative than others. If I can be pointed in that direction that would really help.

    B) Restaurant management/ownership consulting/blogging etc.. is a very strong idea. The fact that there is a huge failure rate is definitely an opportunity I can work to capitalize on!

    C) Sales, MMA/Wrestling related, again another opportunity for me.

I am going to let some of this stuff cook and swirl in my head for an hour or 2 and then come up with some ideas. In the meantime keep the suggestions and encouragement coming!

Either way I will be back on this thread to point out what I have done so far if anything.

    Thanks guys/gals!
