Before I start...

I really don't know if that's a good title for what I'm going to write but it pretty much resumes it.

Before I begin to talk about it, I want to apologize for my bad English, it's not my native language so I'm going to give my best here.

Also, this is going to be my first large post about how I make money, I've never done something like this before but after surfing a little bit on BHW I really like this forum so I'm going to put my "grain of sand" (don't know if that makes sense in English but in Spanish it does)

So in this post, I'll pretty much just talk about how I've earned money since I was like 10 years old. I think that my advice can help anyone, doesn't matter how old you are.

Enough chit-chat, let's start...

Making "physical" money with only 10 yrs old

Since I was a little guy, I liked video games, but my parents never wanted to buy me any, then I decided to start earning money by myself so I can buy whatever I'd like. I started washing my dads car in exchange for 2 bucks, 4 if I also clean it in the inside (maybe in your country you can do it for more but here in Mexico that's a good deal, especially for a 10-year-old), and that was the very first time I started earning some money. After I gathered enough money I went to Sam's club and bought some big bags of candy. Every Sunday we had big family reunions so I took my candy there and sale it to my relatives.

These were my two ways of getting money back then and by saving some of the money that my mom gave me every morning for school (it was meant to buy me some extra food beside my daily yoghurt and sandwich, but after eating that I wasn't really hungry anymore so I decided to save that money).

Making "digital" money

Those were my ways to get "physical" money back then, but I also earned money online. Since little I spent a lot of time in front of my PC (I know this is kinda bad, but that's not the point), so I learned many things. Cell phones were just getting popular, Nokia, Sony Ericson, and Samsung phones were the best sellers, in those days, I had a "Samsung Star S5233", and you could flashed it, change its theme, install some really cool patches and other things, I there weren't a lot of good tutorials or content about it. I knew how to do it, so I started making videos about it, making posts in this forum called "Taringa!". They were getting really good attention, a lot of comments and questions, they were very popular back then, so because of that I started a blog on blogger, just about the "Samsung Star".

All my posts on "Taringa" I re-wrote them on my personal blog, I started adding more content to it and when it hit like 1000 views per day it was time to put ads in it, so I put Adsense and Clicksor ads.

Also, all my files were uploaded to "Shareflare" (back then it was a very good site to earn money per download) and used adfly and linkbucks to shorten links.

With all of that, my blog had almost 100 USD of income per month. 100 bucks for a 10-12-year-old, by just posting some content on the internet...

My blog was a bomb, so I decided to open another blog, this second one was about anything, cracked programs, some tutorials, news I thought were worth sharing, and other things. This one didn't take too much to be popular, as I also made videos on YouTube in each video I mentioned my new blog.

Finding a new way to earn money

I had passive money income every month, so I wanted more. The money I earned on Shareflare, adfly, and Linkbucks was paid through PayPal, but, I didn't have a debit card I was just a kid. So I started buying things on eBay with that money, mostly things from China, you know, those really cheap things with free worldwide shipping: gaming mosses, keyboards, headsets, and other miscellaneous things, and used cell phones from the States. Once all thing things arrived at my home, I resell them, to other people around me, friends or family, or used a local "craigslist" site called "Mercadolibre".

By that time, I was like 14-15 years old and at a very young age, I already had money for me, so much that I could afford "buying" an Xbox 360 on Mercadolibre... It never arrived :´( on those days Mercadolibre was new so many scammers were on that site.

Bad things happen

It was all going too well but then...every changed when the fire nation attacked.

My second blog was shut down due to copyright infringement, also my YouTube channel and I changed the domain of my Samsung Star blog, fact that made all my visits go low (very low).

Now what?

All my passive incomes were gone. But it really didn't depress me, instead, I searched for new ways of earning money. I kept buying on eBay and Aliexpress (a site that I found afterward) and reselling stuff.

Now I'm in High School and after saving like 500 USD, I bought a sublimation printer, a press and other tools to start my own shirt printing business. Knowing Photoshop helped me by making own cool designs for my shirts, I posted them on Facebook groups and Mercadolibre and spread the word with my friends and family.

My business didn't take too much to grow, sales were very good, so I kept doing this (and reselling) through all my High School.

18 lived springs, time to go to college.

I decided to attend college in another city, because of that it would be impossible for me keep working on my shirt printing business. I had a lot of designs on my PC portfolio all made by myself, and I didn't want them to go away that easily, so I searched what to do with them.

That's when Redbubble came to the rescue, I made an account and post all my work there. And as always, my sales grew very fast. After only 4 months of creating my account, I had like $160-$200 USD of income per month WITH ONLY REDBUBBLE. As it went so good, each week I made 2 or 3 new designs. I was very happy with the results.

But then again...

My account got shut down! And again, for copyright infringement...Really pissed me off because my designs were about gaming and music, I really never put a registered name on them but for some reason, Redbubble said it was copyright infringement, so they closed my account and told me not to open new ones...A thing that I did, I decided to open like other 5 Redbubble accounts, 5 PayPal accounts and re-upload my work, and creating new designs...But, it didn't last for long and they shut down all my accounts like in 6 months (I suppose they realized it was me because in one night they closed all of them).

Now I'm pissed off...but it's not enough to make me give up.

I ran out of ideas on making money online. I kept reselling stuff as always, but I didn't have any passive income anymore.

New business! My actual business

Searching and searching new ways to get income online...It took several months until I found it!. I really don't know how I got into this, but I found a guy who could sell me indie games for Steam platform at a very low price. So I decided to give it a try, bought a couple of hundred of these codes and posted them on Mercadolibre and bum! It worked! In no time I was having a lot of sales.

Nowadays this is my actual business, selling digital video games, on Mercadolibre and eBay, it gives me really good income and it doesn't take too much of my time.

I also keep reselling stuff, now I buy on Alibaba too for bulk orders, and recently I've decided to start again on Redbubble (but now with my GF´s account)

Wow, it was a lot what I just wrote... with very bad wording tho :/ sorry about that.

But what I'm trying to transmit is, that anyone can make money! it doesn't matter your age, how much free time you have or what's your current situation, it really doesn't matter.

THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS YOUR ATTITUDE, YOUR ATTITUDE WILL MAKE YOU EARN A LOT OF MONEY OR LOSE MONEY. So search and search, and if you think you found a good way to earn money, well stick with it, but first, be sure to investigate a little about it, if it convinces you well go on, if you have doubts, also go on! You have to take risks to earn real money, BUT AS I ALREADY SAID, SEARCH BEFORE INVESTING, read some reviews about that particular way and make your own opinion about it and then make a decision to invest in it or go away from it.

But remember, JUST INVEST THE MONEY YOUR WILLING TO LOSE. If you have a family, a tuition, a hospital bill or something you need that money for, then don't invest money that you'll regret losing.

Hope all of this works for somebody.

Thank you for reading

Cheers!

thank you for sharing your stories!
i still remember i first started my business when i was 16 (took me long enough), because i'm too lazy to work and wonder if i could find something to sell online and earn as much as my peers who are working part time (waiting tables, etc) and viola!

i still remember all my first customers from all my businesses and i'm still hoping/striving to do better so i can support my parents in the future :D
